Lynden Green and Gold Invite: Standout Players

Here's a recap of some standout players. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2392727' first='Dawson' last='Hintz'] - Lynden Christian</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hintz was definitely the best player on the court all weekend long. He displayed elite athleticism, great shot making ability from all 3 levels, hit NBA range 3's with ease, and defended at a high level. He's the early favorite for MVP in the NWC.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1936885' first='Edison' last='Kan'] - Glacier Peak</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Edison displayed one of the smoothest offensive games from anyone during the weekend. He shot the ball at a very high level from deep, sinking shots smoothly. He got to his spots efficiently, getting to the bucket to use his strength in the paint. He's poised for a big season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2391500' first='Isaiah' last='Englund'] - Auburn </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Isaiah's athleticism was on full display all weekend long as he threw down dunks off of oops and in transition when leaking and out-running the defense. He shot the ball well too, having a nice mid-range shot and a smooth outside shot. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2739562' first='Gunnar' last='Dykstra'] - Lynden Christian</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gunnar had the biggest shot from anyone over the past weekend, hitting the game winning three in the championship game against Auburn. He hit threes with ease all weekend, staying active on the offensive side of the ball by always relocating and trying to get open. He's plays excellent in the transition game too, leaking out for easy buckets.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2878345' first='Rainier' last='Denoso'] - Auburn</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rainier was a player I hadn't seen much before last week but he played fantastic for his team. He has a quick first step, getting to the basket quickly and finishing with both hands. His shot from deep stood out the most for his game, sinking shots with his quick release and high confidence.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2392280' first='Leroy' last='Kinnay'] - Auburn</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Leroy was awesome all weekend to watch, playing fantastic on both ends of the court. He excelled in the transition game, leaking out to get easy buckets and rise above defenders at the rim. He has a nice shot as well, sinking shots from all over with ease contested or not.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2457277' first='Kaden' last='Veldman'] - Lynden Christian</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Veldman continues to improve on the court in every aspect. He protects the paint at a very high level, blocking shots with ease and rebounding at a high level. His jumper has improved and he can now consistently hit shots from anywhere on the court so defenders have to be aware of his range.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2375333' first='Zach' last='Albright'] - Glacier Peak</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Zach was a force in the paint with not many players being able to match up to his strength in the paint. He sets really good screens, being able to get his teammates space to get their shots off or attack the bucket. He seals defenders nicely and gets open quickly for entry passes in the paint.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2676747' first='Jayden' last='Navarre'] - Lynden</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jayden was the Lions main option on the offensive side of the ball and he did a great job at scoring from all 3 levels. Hitting deep shots at a high percentage and being able to get to the bucket using either hand. He is poised for a big season next year for the Lions.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2384271' first='Grant' last='Williams'] - Edmonds Woodway</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Grant had one of the highest IQ's of any players from the weekend. He knows what shots to take and which not to take, being able to pick and choose quickly at a high level. He communicates well on the court, talking to teammates about screens coming and giving positive feedback. His lefty shot is smooth and elite, he's poised for a big year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2547345' first='Gavin' last='Bristol'] - Edmonds Woodway</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gavin is strong in the paint and sets great screens for his teammates, rolling hard down the paint and being able to pop and hit deep shots at a high level. He handles the ball well and can work out from the outside smoothly to get the bucket or find an open teammate. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
