Just like at the collegiate level, the transfer portal is prevalent in high school and as we prepare for the action tomorrow, I highlight a list of names in new places that are worth monitoring. He's one of the few splashy additions to the roster, but his makeup of size and skill as a combo guard are reasons why he'll warrant attention and if he has one of his typical bucket-getting outbursts, the offers could pour in. A 6-foot-2 lead guard, Nelson has a calming fluidity to his operating ability as the floor general and can get to spot in the manner that steady Division I guard prospects can. He gets to his smooth mid-range pull-up with balance, can knock down three's off the catch and if he shows that he can consistently set up teammates with clean looks, he'll be a name for schools to monitor as a newly claimed 2028 prospect.     Majority of eyes are always drawn to PVI because of the powerhouse head coach Glenn Farello has built. They return key pieces of last year's dominant title team, but the hole the size of the grand canyon left behind by [player_tooltip player_id='3336930' first='Jordan' last='Smith'] Jr. (Arkansas) leaves questions of who will step in and become the guy. Franklin's decision to reclass and transfer to The Potomac School could end up benefiting him from a recruiting perspective pretty significantly. He's been glowing this spring and summer with Team Breakdown DMV as a Swiss army knife that can play multiple positions, bring stability and flow to the offense with high-IQ plays and defend four positions. All of the things that he brings to the floor are going to be easy for college staffs to envision him in their system.     Now at Mt. Zion Prep playing under Lafayette Dublin, Matthews will be one of top pure athletes in attendance at DMV Live. He's an active wing to gets his eyes above the rim in the open floor on lobs or straight-line drives, can cause havoc on the defensive end with his physical traits and instincts all while bringing a competitive motor that forces your attention. This Mt. Zion group will feature a lot of new faces, so working out the chemistry kinks could be rough at times, but in an uptempo game where Matthews' athleticism can take centerstage, it'll be likely he's a name that ends up with an asterisk in the college coaches packet by Sunday.     Another huge addition for Book Richardson at St. James, Nunez brings and old-school sense of intensity and ferocity to the floor. You're going to know when he makes a play because because you'll either here the thunderous slam of the rim or the pelting sound of the ball as he swats a shot into the stands. He's another name on this list that possesses explosive athleticism, making him an impossible prospect to miss.     Abraham making the move to PGCA should result in much of the offense going through him. It seems like with each viewing he gets closer to 6'10" as the already sharp footwork when operating on the block becomes even cleaner. Abraham is still just scratching the surface of the player he could become, but at his young age, evidence in the bloodline and steady improvement with his body over the last year, the rubber should start meeting the road in a big way.     Kingsby is along the line of the supreme athleticism mentioned with Matthews above and he may have even more spring especially with a clear path for takeoff. He's shown some other layers of his skillset this spring with [program_tooltip program_id='2078457' first='Team' last='Durant'] 15s, but for the locals who haven't seen him in the AAU setting yet, getting a better feel for his overall skillset will be a priority and a big piece of just how important of a role he carves out for himself with the EYBL Scholastic program.     Echebi makes the move from Largo after posting impressive numbers for a freshman at the PG County public school. Joining the Mustangs and learning his way within the WCAC will be a process, but the experience he gained from last season should provide the confidence to fit in. As he develops comfort with his role, the intangibles will start to pop. As college coaches do their due diligence, the interest with Echebi should grow quickly.
