-The big dog improved his conditioning to give Clinton Grace a consistent threat on the low block. Abraham has a great set of hands to score with putbacks or hook shots around the rim and is beginning to do his work early on boxouts or seals to carve out space more efficiently under the rim. He serves as a great roll target, sets physical screens on the perimeter, and made improvements to his defensive positioning over the course of the season. Want to see what he is capable of as a passer on both the low block and high post, as we saw encouraging flashes as a passer in those positions at different points in the season. Abraham will continue to play up this summer with the 16u team for New World.

First thing you notice with Abraham in comparison to the beginning of the season is the work he’s put in improving his body. Standing a legit 6-foot-9, Abraham is still a massive force on the block and he didn’t waste time in showing his textbook footwork to get over his left shoulder for hooks off the glass or utilizing his soft touch to put it right over the rim. Clinton Grace’s gameplan early was to feed him in the post as much as possible and there were good results. In the second half as they switched to more of an up-tempo trapping defensive attack, Abraham spent some time on the bench, but would enter the game and immediately assert himself on the offensive glass. It was impressive to see the freshman not only live up to the intense environment, but really carry the Eagles through the first half and keep them in position to make a run. He finished with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Abraham finished with 6 points and 5 rebounds in Clinton Grace’s only game of the event. He couldn’t quite find his rhythm scoring at the rim even after creating good positioning, but still offered glimpses of that intriguing mix of size, power, footwork, and mobility.

-Production is catching up to the upside for Big Nas as he is showing what he can do as more of a focal point to stablize Clinton Grace’s offense. His soft hands and strong frame make him a menace to box out and defend around the basket, those hands also allow him to make some tough post entry catches in traffic through double teams or tight passing windows. The conditioning continues to improve and allows him to play in longer spurts for a Clinton Grace group that likes to get up and down the floor quickly in transition. His ability to guard in space and knock down FTs to take advantage of his foul-drawing ability around the rim will be the next stage in his development. But we love where he’s at as one of the younger prospects in his local class.

The only underclassman and only true big in a rotation full of experienced junior and senior guards and wings, Abraham shined as the man in the middle despite a narrow loss to St. John’s (DC). He would wind up as one of just two Eagles in double-figures, scoring most of his 10 points in a first half that saw Clinton Grace take early control. Abraham shows great hands and footwork as a hub from the low post, along with advanced ball skills in traffic for his size and age. Still just 14 years old, he’s continuing to grow while starting reapportion extra bulk into muscle and power. While cut from a bit of an old-school mold, Abraham should have a chance to be one of the top posts in the DMV before much longer and one of the top in his class on a national scale.

It was a unique matchup considered I got to see our No. 1 and No. 2 ranked 2029 prospects.

was extremely impressive and in a first half where Clinton Grace struggled mightily as a team, he was the lone bright spot as he impacted with his willingness to generate opportunities for himself on the offensive glass. On the few catches away from the rim, he used his massive frame to bully his way to the rim with his back to the basket before finishing with feathery soft touch. It’s easy to see why we are so high on the 6-foot-8 14-year-old. Abraham scored 15 points.

Clinton Grace has put together the strongest resume early here out of the gates as being a juggernaut in the DMV. On the heels of winning the National Classic bracket of the Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions in Illinois, the Eagles flew home and took care of business on Sunday evening against Sidwell Friends (DC) in strong fashion. Abraham, the No. 2 overall prospect in the MD/DC 2029 rankings, flashed his skill, footwork, and instinctual feel operating on the block with his back to the basket. He contributed with seven points (3-of-5 shooting) and four boards in 19 minutes. For a freshman to get time on this Clinton Grace is a statement in itself, but to already have the trust of his coach and teammates to perform in a chaotic environment under the bright lights at the beginning of his freshman year speaks volumes for the 14-year-old big man.

-The 6’7 forward showed out this summer playing up an age group with 15u New World, averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds on the 3SSB circuit as a physical but skilled low post presence. Abraham has a nice set of post moves and plays with great pace and patience on catches around the basket or on the short roll, shielding the ball with his body while allowing opponent bigs to fly by on shot block attempts before finishing at the rim. Abraham has really worked on his body, losing over 40 lbs from the summer that has allowed him to move much better with the ball in his hands in addition to improving his end to end sprinting endurance. An additional source of optimism for his outcomes is that Abraham also has the pedigree (cousin of Duke C Pat Ngongba and Georgetown W Isaiah Abraham) to continue growing as one of the more vital future pieces of this Clinton Grace team.

-Abraham was an absolute monster on the low block playing up for NW 15u group. Love the way that the incoming freshman leverages his size to carve out space for rebounding and easy finishes off the glass around the basket. Abraham has really good footwork for a prospect as big and young as he is but understands the importance of head fakes around the basket to earn trips to the FT stripe. Knocking down a high percentage from the charity stripe and keeping the ball high to avoid guards swiping away steals will be the two biggest keys to his development as he figures to earn playing time early with Clinton Grace
