No. 1 2027 prospect Lonnie Lyons commits to Butler

The 6-foot-3 lead guard had just wrapped up an official with the Bulldogs last weekend and it's clear that his time in Indianapolis was enough for him to pull the trigger on a commitment despite having six more official visits set.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"It was just a gut feeling for me," Lyons told Prep Hoops. "When I got there it just felt like home from the staff to the facility, I just felt comfortable and am excited for the role they see me playing."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lyons becomes the highest-rated high school prospect to commit to Butler in program history.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lyons' rise from a national perspective really took off this spring with a strong showing at Team USA Minicamp back in April. Since then, he's proven himself on the EYBL Circuit with [program_tooltip program_id='2077004' first='Team' last='Takeover'] and put on a show during the June Scholastic Live Periods to not only attract more power five programs, but also draw the attention of blue bloods. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"I feel like I can really do something with this and take it to the next level at Butler under Coach Nored," Lyons said.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Nored was awarded the Butler job back in March and brings a great deal of NBA experience back to his alma mater.
