[program_tooltip program_id='2225511' first='All-Wisconsin' last='']'s up-and-coming group of 16U players played at a high level Saturday at the Prep Hoops Cream City Collision at OAW in New Berlin and pulled out an impressive 63-62 win over a [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] EYBL squad. De Pere sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='2618950' first='Silas' last='Cohen'] hit a left-handed sweeping bank shot with just 10 seconds left to account for the winning score and [program_tooltip program_id='2225511' first='All-Wisconsin' last='']'s biggest win of the spring. Despite being double-teamed for much of the contest, Cohen finished with 21 points and drilled four three-point baskets. Also performing exceptionally well for coach Nick Ivory's squad were sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='3021472' first='Mario' last='Romo'] of North Fond du Lac, [player_tooltip player_id='2381621' first='Bryson' last='Vogt'] of Winnebago Lutheran and [player_tooltip player_id='2381628' first='Camron' last='Taylor'] of New London. [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'], which finished 3-1 at the Cream City Collision, played without standout [player_tooltip player_id='2613959' first='Kinston' last='Knueppel'] of Wisconsin Lutheran as he was attending the school's prom. Also out for [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] were injured sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='2398448' first='Joey' last='Kohnen'] of Slinger and [player_tooltip player_id='2466054' first='Mace' last='Miskel'] of Whitefish Bay. Living Word Lutheran sophomore point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2509457' first='Jordan' last='Evans'] had a strong showing for coach Ben Hailey's squad as he finsihed with 15 points and made some big shots late. Mauston sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2369883' first='Jase' last='Navis'] added 14 and Monona Grove sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2369936' first='Mason' last='Wallace'] contributed 11.

Cohen, who made a big jump up in the Prep Hoops Player Rankings for 2028 released earlier this week, continues to showcase the impressive gains in his game while also opening the eyes of scholarship programs for the next level. The bouncy, skilled and smart combination guard drilled four three-point shots, scored 21 points and made the correct reads out of perimeter double teams to help All-Wisconsin to its big win. Cohen handles the ball, sees the court, makes shots and loves to take on the challenge of competing against the best the state has to offer. A good rebounder who can push the ball in transition, Cohen made the game-winning basket in the tight contest with [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro']. As he continues to add strength to his wiry and athletic frame, look for Cohen to become a true force in the 2028 class and a go-to player for the storied program at De Pere.

Maybe the surprise player of the entire 16U field at the Cream City Collision, Romo was nothing short of stellar for All-Wisconsin versus a big and talented lineup from [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro']. The skilled, bouncy wing with impressive length finished with 13 points and scored around the over bigger defenders with his quickness off the bounce and his elevation toward the basket. He also drew plenty of fouls and swished five of his six foul shots. Romo led North Fond du Lac in virtually every category last season as he contributed 17.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 2.4 apg, 2.3 spg and 1.5 bspg. A player to watch as he matures and add strength to his frame, Romo's showing against highly regarded [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] was definitely impressive.

Another under-the-radar performer for All-Wisconsin, Vogt played at the JV1 level for Winnebago Lutheran last winter. But he used his size, strength and finishing ability around the hoop to score four baskets and snare a handful of rebounds while playing against the high-level frontline prospects from [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro']. Vogt ran the floor very well, playing within his role and battled for every rebound to give his team solid production on both ends of the court.

Already a two-year varsity performer at New London, Taylor handled the ball well and dribbled to spots that benefited his teammates. A good passer who can score through contact due to his physical strengths, Taylor scored nine points for All-Wisconsin. He provided backcourt ball-handling relief at times for [player_tooltip player_id='2618950' first='Silas' last='Cohen'], and proved he was more than up to the challenge of faring well against [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro']'s pressure defense. Defensively, Taylor can guard well on the perimeter by using his size and strength to keep opposing players out of the lane.

Wallace left Monona Grove for a prep school at the start of the school year, but returned home after a few months. Still, he had to play at the JV1 level for Monona Grove per WIAA rules so he's somewhat under the radar. That figures to change in a hurry, though, as the physically strong and powerfully athletic inside player was impressive all weekend for [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro']. He can dunk with both hands off of two feet, scores on the glass on either side of the hoop and is an accurate foul shooter. Against All-Wisconsin, Wallace finished with 11 points and made 7 of 8 foul shots.

Evans handled almost all of the ball-handling chores throughout the game for [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro'] as his sidekick, Whitefish Bay's [player_tooltip player_id='2466054' first='Mace' last='Miskel'], sat out the game with an injury. Evans played well for his squad, scoring 15 points, finding his teammates and not turning the ball over while being pressure outside the three-point arc. A physically and mentally tough lead guard, Evans made some big baskets late for his squad and was able to make a three-point basket and all of his four foul shots in the game. Defensively, he did a nice job of harassing opposing guards and making it difficult for them to get straight-line drives to the hoop.

After a slow start, Navis got things going late in the first half and in the second half for [program_tooltip program_id='2391400' first='Team' last='Herro']. The skilled 6-foot-7 wing finished with 14 points, scoring mostly off the dribble while pulling up for short jump shots or finishing at the rim with his length. Adding some strength to his long frame and becoming a knock-down three-point jump shooter are the likely next steps for this scholarship prospect, but he already possesses plenty to like about his game.
