Twin Cities Takedown: Jack's Star MN Guards

Here are seven Minnesota guards that shined from all age groups at the Prep Hoops Twin Cities Takedown!    Damien was fun to watch this past weekend, doing it all for his team. He plays so hard and plays with so much energy, pushing the pace offensively and applying constant pressure defensively. He forced so many turnovers, making life very difficult for opposing guards, leading to easy scores in transition. Barnes could use his quickness to blow by his defender and get inside, as well as step out and hit a tough pull-up jumper in the mid-range or from three.     There are some games where you can't do much to stop Jaeden and his deep range. Leading [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'] to a 4-0 record on the weekend, the junior guard showcased his incredibly difficult shot making, pulling up from deep with a hand in his face from well beyond the three-point line. He was also working inside for some tough finishes, using his touch to convert over larger defenders. Udean is one of the most gifted scorers in the state and it was on full display this past weekend.     Braxdyn is a hard nosed, scrappy guard that was making plays all over the floor. In the game I watched, he was very effective getting downhill, being able to convert on acrobatic and physical finishes inside. He looked good when running the point for his team, generating looks for himself and teammates. Male is very quick and did not do too much with the ball in his hands, making one move to work around his defender consistently.     Owen continues to improve his overall game, as he looked great running the point for [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'] in an undefeated weekend. He has always been a knockdown shooter, drilling several threes in both games I watched with his range extending well beyond the three-point line. Counce impressed me with his ability to create off the dribble, getting inside for finishes and finding teammates for open looks.      Rylan, an unsigned senior running with Hoop Habits TLC, shined with his scoring and ball handling abilities this past weekend. He looked at his best when going 1-on-1 with his defender, being able to create separation for a shot from the perimeter, or to blow by his man to work inside and make a play. McPipe is a knockdown shooter and had some impressive finishes after working himself into the paint or when running in transition.     Paris impressed playing up this past weekend with [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite']. The 8th grade guard looked good conducting an offense full of scoring threats, making the right plays, both scoring himself and sharing the ball. He is a major threat from deep and was at his best when hitting on shots from the perimeter off the dribble. Kyles has a ton of potential as a prospect, and reminds me of a young Braeden Carrington or Xavier Frelix.     Woeser, another unsigned 2026 prospect with Hoop Habits TLC, looked dominant, scoring in a variety of ways. He was taking advantage of the defense leaving him any space, knocking down several catch-and-shoot threes. The senior guard is very smooth and plays at his own pace, maintaining control on tough finishes inside. Jenpa is a very skilled player and could be a nice pickup for a collegiate program.
