The Sweet 16 is here and the path to the Great 8 and The Coliseum is officially within reach. What was once a crowded bracket is now trimmed down to the teams that have earned it. Survive and advance is no longer a saying it's the standard. Every squad left has proven something to get here, but now it's about taking the next step. This is where contenders separate themselves. This is where stars cement their legacy. This is where seasons are either extended… or end.

Frederick vs Palisade

Can Palisade correct their shooting struggles from round 2?

The spotlight only gets brighter in the Sweet 16, and the biggest question for Palisade is simple: will the shots fall when the pressure rises? In their previous game against Pueblo County, Todd Nordenson was efficient, going 4-for-8 and shooting 50 percent from the field. The rest of the team has struggled to find rhythm, combining for just 15-of-50 shooting. From beyond the arc it was even tougher. Hayward knocked down the team's only two three pointers as they finished 2-for-21 from deep. If they want to advance, that has to change. Better shot selection, inside out play, and confidence from their supporting cast will be critical. In the Sweet 16, every possession matters and missed opportunities can end a season

Is the playoffs Dorsey's coming out party?

[player_tooltip player_id='2057084' first='Gennaro' last='Dorsey'] picked the perfect time to come alive, pouring in 23 points in the second round and reminding everyone just how dangerous Frederick can be. After battling back from injury earlier this season, he's returned to form as one of the team's most reliable and clutch performers. If he continues playing at this level, Frederick suddenly rolls out a four headed monster. That is four scorers capable of dropping 20 or more on any given night. Dorsey's impact goes beyond the box score. His inside out game stretches defenses thin. He can score through contact in the paint, step out and knock down shots and create space for others. That versatility forces opponents into tough decisions and opens the floor, making Frederick even more difficult to stop as the playoffs intensify

Pueblo South vs Lewis-Palmer

Will other players step up to help out J'Rell Williams?

Williams has been the engine for Pueblo South all season, and in the second round he put the team on his back again with an eye popping 30-point performance. When the lights get bright, he doesn't flinch. He attacks, he finishes and he finds ways to will the Colts forward. The big question moving ahead is simple: can he get consistent help? Pueblo South scored 60 points in the win, meaning the rest of the roster combined for 30. That balance will matter as competition stiffens. [player_tooltip player_id='2422819' first='Landen' last='Frison'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2552530' first='Christian' last='Vigil'] have been strong complementary pieces all year and have each delivered big moments. If they can elevate their scoring and take pressure off Williams, the Colts become far more dangerous and much harder to contain

Can [player_tooltip player_id='2385215' first='Devin' last='VanderMeer'] regain his 3 point consistency?

[player_tooltip player_id='1764300' first='Jonas' last='Miller'] has been Lewis-Palmer's most consistent force all season, and he delivered again in Round 2 with a huge 23-point performance. When the moment called for it, he answered, attacking with confidence and keeping the Rangers steady under pressure. If Lewis-Palmer plans to keep its playoff run alive, they'll need more firepower alongside him. That's where VanderMeer becomes critical. He's still getting downhill and finishing at the rim, but his impact stretches far beyond the paint. The Rangers need his three point shooting to truly control games and force defenses to extend. Over the past four games, he's just 6-for-25 from deep. If he finds his rhythm again from beyond the arc, Lewis-Palmer quickly becomes a dangerous team capable of making a serious run
