Dorsey has the size at 6’3 and has filled in admirably as a complementary piece who is very productive. He’s earned our respect in the past two seasons, and now the 6’3 junior is in a groove since he’s started playing in the new year. Dorsey has shaken off the rust and is up to 10.4 points a game. He’s battling on the boards, spacing the floor with his shooting, and making the right reads. He’s also very aggressive right now and that’s causing the defenses to have to adjust to his playstyle as well as getting him to the FT line. Frederick has looked like a more balanced team with him in the mix and he’s a glue guy who could help them go on a run. 

Dorsey proved to be one of the most dependable scorers on the floor, always ready to step up and keep his team in the game. He showed a confident stroke from deep, particularly from the corners, and displayed the ability to attack effectively off the baseline. When driving he went hard to the rim and consistently found ways to finish through contact or traffic. What stood out most was his willingness to take on the scoring load. Dorsey never shied away from big shots and his aggressive mindset provided a steady offensive spark. His mix of shooting range, downhill attacking and confidence made him a tough cover throughout the event

Gennaro Dorsey Gennaro Dorsey 6'4" | CG Frederick | 2027 State CO is one of the shiftiest guards in the state of Colorado, and for good reason. Changing pace with the ball and slithering through defenders allows Dorsey to put on scoring clinics. At 6’4, Dorsey can elevate to crash for rebounds and shoot over his matchup when he has the open look. Dorsey also thrives off the dribble, hitting heavily contested shots with ease.

Dorsey is a 6’2 slasher with high upside that we’ve seen have his moments at a few of our events. He’s shown off his IQ with smart reads and knowing when to cut for easy scoring opportunities, getting out in transition for outlet catches and finishes as well as getting steals where he’s dangerous in the open court. Now we want to see him put it all on display with playing with and against some of the top players. He’s a player that could very well make a jump with how we anticipate the year going and if he’s able to make an impact at the showcase, we can jumpstart that. Hope to see him come out and prove himself. 

Dorsey had an impressive weekend, showcasing his instincts and intelligence in transition. He consistently turned defense into offense, using quick hands and anticipation to jump passing lanes and create opportunities. Once he secured the ball, he made immediate, smart decisions like threading an on time outlet pass to a streaking teammate or recognizing the lane to take it coast to coast himself. He read defenders well in space and attacked with control, finishing strong and maintaining balance and composure. Dorsey played with a great mix of speed and feel, turning momentum plays into points and showing a strong understanding of how to impact the game on both ends

Gennaro Dorsey Gennaro Dorsey 6'4" | CG Frederick | 2027 State CO is a floor general who commands any offense well. Dorsey excels in attacking the basket and getting crafty finishes to go in. Gennaro’s potential is through the roof as a 6’4 guard, and I only see him improving as his high school career progresses.

Dorsey showed out in recent tournaments, bringing great size and skill in the backcourt. A dependable scoring threat around the rim, he looks to be a physical opponent at the varsity level. Fairly effective handling the ball versus pressure, his processing speeds are making strides. 

Dorsey’s size and skill make him an alluring scoring guard to follow this season, already capable of creating his own looks one on one. Adept at stepping into the pull-up or driving to the rim through contact, he looks the part of a productive varsity guard.

Dorsey is a refined prospect particularly for his size at 6’4, bringing offensive value from all three levels. Capable as both a spot-up shooter behind the arc or downhill scorer, his handle has taken significant strides since last season. Repeatedly getting to the rim from combo moves, his size and speed paired with the progressing skillset makes Dorsey an appealing prospect to follow at Frederick.
