The high school season has officially come to a close in New Hampshire and that means it's time to take a look at our postseason awards for the NHIAA.

As it is every year, the high school season was exciting in New Hampshire and was followed up by a few wild tournament outcomes, as the Division I and Division III champions both were four-seeds heading into the tournament.

As a reminder, here are each of the state champions out of the NHIAA this winter:

Division I: Pinkerton | Division II: Hollis-Brookline | Division III: Gilford | Division IV: Littleton

And, without further ado, our 2025-2026 NHIAA Player of the Year and All-State Team:

Swartz, a sophomore out of Portsmouth, was named the NHBCO D-I Player of the Year after averaging 17.6 points per game this winter, good for 7th in D-I. One of the top players in the country in the class of 2028, Swartz is a 6'5" guard that leaves his fingerprints all over the game. He does a terrific job of rebounding out of the guard spot, is a versatile three-level scorer, and can also operate as a primary initiator in the half-court. He plays with strength as a driver, isn't afraid to take over games as a scorer, and shows a high level of versatility on the defensive end of the floor. There's not another player in the state who could fill up a box score in the way that Swartz could this winter.

Williams, a senior out of Hollis-Brookline, was named the NHBCO D-II Player of the Year after averaging 16.3 points per game this winter, which was 12th in D-II. What stands out most about Williams' game is not his scoring, but actually his ability to impact a game without putting the ball in the basket. He finished the state championship with 15 rebounds, single-handedly controlling the glass for his Hollis-Brookline team. He's a plus athlete with long arms that can defend up and down a lineup and has improved tremendously with the ball in his hands. He showed the ability to stretch a defense with his shooting and even did a nice job of making plays in transition as a creator.

Ballou, a senior out of Mascoma Valley, was named the NHBCO D-III Player of the Year after averaging 20.7 points per game, 2nd among all players in D-III. A smaller guard, Ballou proved that his size wasn't a limiting factor as he was one of the top scoring guards in the entire state. He played with a quick first step, a lot of creativity as a scorer around the rim, and knocked down plenty of shots from behind the arc. His ability to get out in transition, where he was able to make plays for himself and others off the bounce, stood out each time he took the floor. Ballou did a terrific job of moving without the basketball, attacking long closeouts off the bounce, and making good decisions out of ball screens in the half-court.

McGowan, a senior out of Bishop Guertin, was named NHBCO D-I 1st Team All-State after leading D-I in scoring at 23.3 points per game this season. McGowan proved to be one of the best scorers in the state this winter, getting it done at all three levels with a combination of skill, strength, and toughness. He played through contact with a strong frame, showed the ability to finish over or through size at the rim, and never backed down from the big moment. His ability to make tough shots in isolation situations stood out and he continuously and consistently knocked down threes in catch and shoot situations. Few prospects in the NHIAA played with as much competitive fire as he did this winter.

Youssef, a senior out of Pinkerton, was named NHBCO D-I 1st Team All-State after averaging 18.1 points per game this winter, good for 5th in D-I. Youssef was a standout during Pinkerton's state title run, operating at a high level as a primary creator in transition and in the half court. The 6'4" guard played with a terrific feel for the game with the ball in his hands, making good decisions as a passer, and showing the ability to create his own shot off the bounce. He did a nice job of moving off the ball and knocking down threes, used his length to his advantage defensively to create turnovers, and played with a chip on his shoulder that allowed his compete level to never dip.

Yonkeu, a senior out of Holy Family, was named the NHBCO D-IV Player of the Year after averaging 24.0 points per game this winter, ranking as the 3rd leading scorer in D-IV. Yonkeu torched the nets all winter long, on his way to becoming just the third 1,000-point scorer in Holy Family's history. A big, strong, and athletic forward, he was able to overwhelm opponents with his physical attributes in the paint. He could make plays from the perimeter off the bounce, had a nose for the ball on the offensive glass, and could really get out and run the floor in transition. His ability to be a disruptive playmaker on the defensive end of the floor while also cleaning up on the defensive glass made him a two-way standout.
