McGowan, a senior out of Bishop Guertin, was named NHBCO D-I 1st Team All-State after leading D-I in scoring at 23.3 points per game this season. McGowan proved to be one of the best scorers in the state this winter, getting it done at all three levels with a combination of skill, strength, and toughness. He played through contact with a strong frame, showed the ability to finish over or through size at the rim, and never backed down from the big moment. His ability to make tough shots in isolation situations stood out and he continuously and consistently knocked down threes in catch and shoot situations. Few prospects in the NHIAA played with as much competitive fire as he did this winter.

McGowan, who checks in at #214 overall and #35 among the lead guards, is one of the better defensive guards around. He has a nice combination of atheticism and strength, that when combined with his instincts, allow him to be a disruptive defender. Offensively, he makes shots with range from behind the arc, shows some creativity with the ball in his hands, and continues to improve his decision making in the half-court. He’ll play college basketball in the future and will be able to help a program with his IQ and feel for the game.

Connor McGowan Connor McGowan 5'10" | PG Bishop Guertin | 2026 State New E is a shotmaking point guard who can make things happen on both ends of the basketball court. He thrives as a floor spacer on offense, knocking down three-pointers at a high rate. McGowan is smart and has great relocation ability, always taking the open space and getting open looks on his shots from the corners. He is also effective coming off screens and comfortable shooting well beyond the line at times. McGowan loves to be a pest on the defensive end, racking up steals by playing the passing lanes. He gives high effort at all times, getting on the ground and getting loose balls. McGowan’s mix of shooting, off-ball defense, and hustle should make him an intriguing player for coaches in the coming years.
