Martinez, a wing out of Belmont High School in New Hampshire, is the #4 ranked small forward and checks in at #16 overall. Belmont stands at 10-0 and Martinez is a big part of that, as the freshman is averaging 18.9 points per game on the season, good for 5th in Division III of the NHIAA. Martinez finishes plays above the rim in space, mixes it up physically as a low post scorer, finishes over size with touch, and has the ability to make plays off the bounce from the perimeter. He has a good motor on the defensive glass, can defend on the perimeter and in the paint, and shows good instincts in rotations. He’s got a high long-term ceiling and is arguably the most intriguing 2029 in the NHIAA.

Martinez, a freshman wing out of Belmont High School, is one of the top underclassmen to watch this winter in the NHIAA. He has terrific positional size, plays with a strong two-way motor, and does a nice job of playing through contact. He does most of his scoring around the rim, where he utilizes his length and athleticism, but also shows the ability to make plays out to the perimeter as a ball-handler. One of his best attributes is his willingness to mix it up as a two-way rebounder.

Martinez is a physical, skilled, and versatile wing who plays well beyond his years. The 6-foot-4 freshman plays at his own pace and uses his body quite effectively in the paint; he moves players pretty easily and is not afraid to throw his weight around. He also has good enough handles to puncture the paint against opposing wings and bigs but a nice-looking shot from the outside if the defender plays off of him. Martinez should absolutely make Belmont High School’s varsity team this year, and my guess would be that he plays a pretty significant role. He’s only going to continue to get better, too. Bright future.
