Prep Hoops Indiana Sectional Preview – Class 1A South

Here at Prep Hoops Indiana we will use this final week of the regular season to preview all 64 Sectionals that will take place beginning next Tuesday. There are 410 teams across four classes that are ultimately vying for a trip to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. As always, we will be your one stop shop for coverage throughout the 116th annual IHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament. Let's now dive into our previews which are broken up between the north and south for each class. We will include each Sectional bracket, dive deeper into the toughest Sectional in each area while also discussing an under-the-radar Sectional field, highlight the players to watch, give our expert predictions, and more. Sectional 62 at Loogootee High School is one of the toughest, most well-balanced fields in the entire state. Prep Hoops Indiana #2 Barr-Reeve and #5 Orleans headline the field while Loogootee has spent several weeks inside of the Top 10 and North Daviess currently has a 13-8 record. Barr-Reeve is 6-0 against the field, but only beat Loogootee by five points and needed overtime to get past North Daviess. It'll be interesting to see who ultimately cuts down the nets. Whoever does will be battle-tested and ready to make a run through the Class 1A South.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Under-the-Radar Sectional - Sectional 59 @ Tri High School</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is an incredibly balanced sectional field featuring five teams with double-digit wins and everyone has lost to someone else in the draw. Tri has the best record at 6-1 against the field with their loss coming to Waldron who is 6-2 alongside Morristown. Morristown and North Decatur beat Waldron while South Decatur was the other team to beat Morristown along with Tri.
