<p>Apple Valley, who is 14-7 now after beating Lakeville South Friday in their in-season rematch, has won 9 of their last 12 games. </p>   <p>The 17-5 Cougars have a losing streak for the first time all season. </p>   <p>Camare Young - The 2026 senior hybrid forward Young scored 37 points  shooting 17 of 25 from the floor versus Lakeville South in 77-68 win. Young made 15 shots inside the 3-point arc in various ways from driving in transition to off the dribble short pull-ups to paint driving floaters to dribble drives. Green is an active frontcourt player on the boards and moving to get open for good looks. Greene is a skilled passer and team defender where he has a presence at the rim.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Prior Lake Continues Their Run</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1560784' first='Woeser' last='Jenpa'] - The six-foot-four-inch 2026 Jenpa scored 22 points versus Burnsville in Prior Lake's 87-49 win Friday night. Jenpa's ability off the dribble, scoring on the perimeter and going to the basket makes him effective for the Lakers.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126466' first='Kobby' last='Sambrew'] - The six-foot-six-inch 2027 Sambrew has shown big improvement since the summer on the perimeter with the ball in his hands morphing a bit from a straight forward to a hybrid forward. Sambrew's improved handle and perimeter scoring has made him a match-up problem for slower big guys. Friday night he scored 17 points in their win over Burnsville.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2052332' first='Trey' last='Theis'] - The six-foot-seven-inch 2027 Theis scored 14 points Friday versus Burnsville. Scoring isn't always the impact Theis makes on the floor. Theis is a high-level glue guy that'll rebound, play defense, pass the ball as well shoot from the perimeter. Theis showed a bit of added ball handling this Fall for Prior Lake to make him even more versatile.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2381979' first='Tony' last='Johnson'] - Johnson a six-foot-three-inch 2026 senior for Lakeville North scored 32 points versus Eastview in a win Friday night. Johnson, a D2 football target from schools like Northern State, is a good athlete on the floor for the Panthers running the floor and finishing at the rim.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2140606' first='Ethan' last='McGrath'] - McGrath a six-foot-three-inch 2027 junior scored 21 for Eastview Friday versus Lakeville North. McGrath made eight shots including three 3-pointers for the Lightning in the win. McGrath tied his season high for points in a game.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Holy Family Clips Delano's Win Streak</h2>   <p>The Delano Tigers up until January 17th were 3-11 but until Holy Family loss 83-81 Friday night they had won 7 in a row.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1560809' first='Bjorn' last='Stewart'] - The six-foot-three-inch 2026 senior guard has been a big reason for the winning streak and even against Holy Family scored 22 points for Delano Friday night. Gustafson got it done off the dribble from the perimeter and jumped a pass for an easy lay-up after the steal. Gustafson switches off as a passer and creator and lead scorer for East.</p>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2435185' first='Karsten' last='Miller'] - The six-foot-six-inch 2027 forward from Zumbrota-Mazeppa led them Friday night over Stewartville with 14 points giving Zumbrota their 20th win of the season. The junior Miller is an agile forward that can make plays from the perimeter driving to the hoop and makes good cuts to give his teammates openings for lay-ups. Miller also grabbed 8 rebounds Friday night.</p>    <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126472' first='Owen' last='Counce'] - The 2027 Osseo guard continues to have a solid and consistent junior year scoring 21 points in the Osseo win Friday over Moorhead 74-70. Counce showed scoring ability on the perimeter and inside the 3-pointer arc making four shots inside the arc and four outside of it. With the 21 points Counce increased his season average to 14.9 points per game through 17 games. Osseo improved to 15-6 on the season.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Happenings</h2>   <p>Chaska won their 16th game in a row over Orono to improve to 19-4. Montevideo improved to 20-1 with win over Sauk Centre. East Ridge beat Cretin-Derham Hall in a big section match-up. [player_tooltip player_id='1560882' first='Cedric' last='Tomes'] led with 25 points. Benson improved to 19-2. Duluth Denfeld beat Cherry 73-68. Becker improved to 17-4 with a win over Cambridge. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2399176' first='Bryce' last='Paumen'] scored 32 points for the Bulldogs. Pequot Lakes improved to 19-1 with first year head coach Kurt Stumpf with a win over Albany.
