The Class AA first half of the season MVP is Ethan who is scoring 30 points a game and has had his team in the top spot at number one for a decent part of the year already. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2417301' first='Hunter' last='Vinkemeier'] of Le Sueur-Henderson (Jr). The Giants were no supposed to be good at all, and they are 7-5 as Hunter is averaging 30 points and 20 rebounds a game shooting 54 percent from the floor and 42 percent at the arc.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2121332' first='Deron' last='Russell'] of Waseca (Sr). Russell is averaging between 36 and 37 points a game which would lead the state if we have the numbers right. The Jays are 10-5 which is a solid mark considering all the change from last year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2119578' first='Pierce' last='Petersohn'] of Triton (Sr). Has Triton at 13-3 on the year averaging 30 points and 13.3 rebounds per game. One of the most explosive finishers in the state. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2524646' first='Griffin' last='Epema'] of Montevideo (Jr). Griffin is the lead guard of the third ranked team in the state with a chance to be one with a win Friday. Griffin is averaging 22.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 4.2 steals a game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Second Team</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2404942' first='King' last='James'] of Hiawatha Collegiate (Jr). His team has lost just four games and the human highlight reel of the modern age is averaging 24.5 points and 12 rebounds a game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1951088' first='Luke' last='Roschen'] of Goodhue (Sr). The senior SMSU signed guard has had his team in the top five all season scoring 22 points a game with 5-6 assists a contest. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2394170' first='Alex' last='Loos'] of Goodhue (Soph). Scoring just under 20 points with seven rebounds a game for a top five team in the state. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2120492' first='Ethan' last='Miller'] of Zumbrota-Mazeppa (Sr). The SMSU signed big is averaging 19 points and nine rebounds a game on a balanced team ranked in the top ten of Class AA with an 11-2 record. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126448' first='Colton' last='Purcell'] of Annandale (Jr). The Cards leading scorer is averaging 23 points a contest for an 11-2 team that is a favorite in Section 6AA.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Third Team</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2815217' first='Logan' last='Junkermeier'] of Fairmont (Sr). Logan is giving his team 18 points, 11 rebounds and 3.7 blocks a game for a Fairmont team that is 12-2 and playing at a high level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2569260' first='Miles' last='Rechtzigel'] of Cannon Falls (Jr). Miles has put up nearly 21 points a game for the Bombers who are ranked in the top ten this season at 11-2 on the season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2377913' first='Alex' last='Asmus'] of Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta (Jr). Asums is scoring 16 plus points a game with six rebounds and three assists a contest on an undefeated team that is very balanced. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2569257' first='Marcus' last='Marshall'] Jr of Maranatha Christian (Jr). Grof is scoring 21 points a game for a Fire team that is ranked in the top ten. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2387331' first='Grant' last='King'] of Caledonia (Soph). The Warriors have hit a rough patch but they were top ten for a bit and nobody expected that. King is scoring 22 a game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Fourth Team</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126464' first='Gavyn' last='Lorenson'] of Lake City (Jr). The Tigers are back to .500 after a rough start and Lorenson is handling it, scoring 27.4 points a game, he is grabbing 8.4 boards a contest and dishing out 3.5 assists a game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2845973' first='Jack' last='Burke'] of Southwest Christian (Sr). The Stars are making their push to the top ten with a 12-3 record and a recent Big win over Belle Plaine. Burke is scoring 21 points a game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2423114' first='Lincoln' last='Busse'] of Glencoe-Silver Lake (Jr). The Panthers are 11-5 and Lincoln leads the team in scoring at 28 points per game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126171' first='Gabe' last='Staloch'] of Blooming Prairie (Jr). A senior that is putting up 23.6 points a contest leading hist eam to an 11-5 season so far. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1858796' first='Ezra' last='Cunningham'] of St. Paul Academy (Sr). SPA is 7-5 on the season with Ezra leading the way with 23.6 points a contest. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Fifth Team</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2140590' first='Cody' last='Benson'] of Spectrum (Jr). Cody has stepped up to score 26 a game and help his team to seven wins so far after the Sting lost their scholarship level big and their coach. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2486899' first='J'Marion' last='Sanders'] of Minneapolis North (Sr). Scoring 20 points a game for North who is 8-8 so far this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2560433' first='Braxdyn' last='Male'] of Esko (Soph). Scoring 25 plus points per game and looking like the next big standout from Esko.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126146' first='Jordan' last='Borowicz'] of Roseau (Jr). The leading scorer in the state at 33.6 points per game according to the Tribune has to score in bulk for a team that is struggling. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2138701' first='Mat' last='Matejka'] of Dover-Eyota (Jr). Mat has Dover-Eyota at 9-6 after they were 5-22 last season, and he is doing it scoring 26 points a game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2420045' first='Carson' last='McDonald'] of East Grand Forks (Sr). McDonald is scoring 23 points per game for a team that is 11-4. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
