Apple Valley's two senior stars tend to carry the scoring load this season, but Tyrese flashed his sharpshooting ability in a win over Burnsville on Saturday. At 6'5 he moves well out on the perimeter, and is a threat to connect from deep any time you leave him in space. He was able to break free on a handful of occassions against Burnsville, knocking down a handful of shots from beyond the arc. With his size he also helped provide an extra rebounding presence for his team.

Connor is another 2027 who showed some intriguing flashes on Saturday. Despite the loss, Connor turned heads with his mobility at 6'6-6'7, as well as his handle out on the perimeter. Early in the game he broke his defender down before draining a pull-up jumper. He's comfortable playing with some physicality in the post and rebounding the ball, but showed those flashes out on the perimeter that you don't often see in guys his size.

One word to describe Cooper's game is "active". The senior forward is constantly moving, and does so with a purpose. He sprints the floor in transition, he crashes the glass hard on both ends, he's in the right spots to slide in and cut off drives defensively, and always provides a dump-off option when his guards drive down the lane. Cooper was finishing at a high percentage around the basket, including a few attempts through contact. He racked up 23 points to lead his team to a win over Minnetonka.

Sefi helped lead Central to a win over undefeated St. Paul Johnson on Thursday night, and was hitting some tough shots in the process. He got hot early on in the game, helping his team establish a comfortable lead heading into halftime. If Sefi got even a foot of space he was pulling up and knocking down a mid-range jumper with a hand right in his face. Central has a number of options who can step up on any given night, and on Thursday it was Sefi coming up with big plays in a win.

Damonte played a key role on both ends of the floor in Central's win on Thursday night. Defensively he was giving up some size to his matchup, but competed with physicality to prevent good looks around the basket. He stood his ground and was able to limit the amount of low-post touches Johnson could get. On the offensive end his agility at 6'4 made him tough to matchup with. Showed a quick first step that allowed him to get to the rim from the wing and extend to finish. Came up with key plays at key moments of the game.

Trey has established himself as one of the better outside shooters in the Metro area, but his shot just wasn't falling at its usual rate on Saturday. That didn't rattle him though, as Trey set his mind on getting some quality looks at the rim. He had some second chance buckets, was able to get out in transition, and found ways to turn the corner and get downhill in the half-court. Trey is strong and more explosive than most high school guards, and it showed on Saturday as he was using his body to shield off defenders and finish through contact inside.

Dereon has the potential to be a dangerous guard at Burnsville. As just a sophomore he already leads the team in scoring, and it's easy to see why. He has a shifty handle and knows how to change his speed to create separation from his defender. Multiple times I saw him just go at his man and get to whatever spot he wanted to. He's quick enough to get to the basket to finish inside, or can stop on a dime for a mid-range jumper. Dereon is averaging 13.9 ppg this season with three 20+ point performances.
