Dating back to the 2020-21 season, Wayzata has finished their season in the 4A State Title Game, winning three times and losing the other two games. 2024-25 was one of those three State Championships, a game they won 80-55 over Cretin-Derham Hall.

The [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] three leading scorers, [player_tooltip player_id='1560778' first='Nolen' last='Anderson'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560867' first='Christian' last='Wiggins'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1560807' first='Isaac' last='Olmstead']. All three 2026 juniors last year, now all 2026 seniors. Tuesday afternoon those three again led Wayzata versus Totino-Grace with this game being the UMD commit Olmstead leading the charge with 27 points making multiple 3-pointers, some on back-to-back possessions.

Anderson, Minnesota Gophers commit, was kind of quiet in the first half until towards the end when he had two breakaway dunks to push the Trojan lead to 47-33 at half. Anderson displayed his long distance shooting range like Olmstead making multiple 3-pointers and finished with 23 points.

Wiggins, 2026 Iowa State commit, drove to the basket consistently drawing contact and receiving free throws. Wiggins persistence paid off and eventually found buckets around the rim and made a jumper or two to finish with 15 points. Wiggins first half was equally impressive how the ball never stuck once it found his hands. Wiggins made numerous extra passes to open shooters who had better looks from the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560847' first='Tommy' last='Shunmugavelu'] - The six-foot-five-inch 2026 forward from Wayzata does so much little stuff for the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] that if you only look at points and box score numbers you miss out on all that he does. Shunmugavelu does the little bits like catching at the high-post to begin the offense finding shooters and wings coming off screens and rebounds relentlessly using his wide size to keep opponents at bay. Smart passing and rolling makes him a threat on offense every position. Shunmaugavelu had numerous assists in the first half. Shunmugavelu has soft hands and quick feet.

Xavy Ivey - The 2027 five-foot-eleven-inch guard gave Olmstead relief to bring the ball up the court, and gave the [program_tooltip program_id='2075965' first='Trojans' last=''] another shooter in the corner to spread the floor. Ivey was quick in the half-court, and held his own more than enough defensively.

The Eagles of Totino-Grace are no slouches, this is a game that got away from at times where they could have kept it closer throughout. 2026 Drake commit [player_tooltip player_id='1560740' first='Dothan' last='Ijadimbola'] looks quick, strong, and the wing we saw him as a sophomore. He was handling the ball and shooting the ball from the perimeter very well scoring 15 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126117' first='Malachi' last='Hill'] the 2027 six-foot point guard showed toughness and grit throughout. Hill giving up multiple inches to Wiggins played very good defense throughout keeping Wiggins relatively quiet in the game. Hill is a quick, traditional point guard who's outside shooting has really picked up in the last year and is one the best at his position in the 2027 in Minnesota.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126113' first='AJ' last='Taban'] - 2027 six-foot-six-inch forward Taban looked smooth and ran the floor well for Totino-Grace. In the middle he showed good touch and finished a few short range in the paint shots. In September we got to see him show off his long range shooting ability, versus Wayzata that didn't factor into play although Taban did kick the game off with a 3-pointer on the wing.

Around Minnesota

2026 Blaine guard [player_tooltip player_id='1874931' first='Shiloh' last='Ayitey']'s name keeps popping up and Tuesday versus Spring Lake Park in a tight Bengals win, 57-53, Ayitey scored 40 of Blaine's 57. Ayitey shot the ball incredibly well from the perimeter and his quickness allows him to get free to give himself open looks. Overall he shot 14 of 30 and got himself to the free throw line 12 times and made all 12.

https://twitter.com/shilohayitey/status/2003862234251051223

2028 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2417305' first='Romeo' last='Kromah'] scored 23 points for Moorhead Tuesday to help push them past West Fargo (ND) 86-73. Kromah showed improvement this summer with the ball in his hands and shooting from the perimeter. Kromah is a long and athletic six-foot-two-inch guard that can guard up with his strength and length. The Spuds improved to 6-0.

[player_tooltip player_id='2524650' first='Kwatamah' last='Silikpoh'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2126472' first='Owen' last='Counce'] combined for 34 to lead Osseo over East Ridge by 3 as 2026 Minnesota Gophers committed guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560882' first='Cedric' last='Tomes'] scored 29 points. With the game on the line the five-foot-eight-inch 2027 Osseo guard was used as a screener and got a wide open look from 3 to win the game for Osseo. Silikpoh, a five-foot-nine-inch 2027 guard set-up the action for Counce and hit him with a pass that sealed the game.

https://www.instagram.com/p/DSoWQd-jFBn/?img_index=2

[player_tooltip player_id='1560841' first='Dominic' last='Webster'] followed his 28 point game versus Alexandria with 27 points versus Forest Lake in another single digit loss for Elk River.
