Merry Christmas! At Prep Hoops Indiana we pride ourselves on providing coverage 365 days a year so we always like to make sure there is some content on the major holidays. Today we are going to highlight five under-the-radar undefeated teams. Now that we are a month into the season you would think that "undefeated" and "under-the-radar" wouldn't fit together, but in some instances they still do.

Boonville Pioneers (7-0)

With wins over Evansville Bosse and Evansville Harrison the Pioneers quickly established themselves as a team to watch this season down near the Pocket City. Their balanced offensive attack is led by talented junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140389' first='Jaxon' last='McKain']. The 6'3" three-sport star is averaging 14.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. Fellow junior Braydn Egli adds 12.0 points per game. Boonville will play in the Perry-Spencer Tournament on Saturday and Monday.

Evansville North (6-0)

The Huskies have established themselves as one of the best, if not the best, team in the Evansville area. That probably wasn't the way some people saw things shaking out in the preseason. However, Evansville North is now 6-0 with wins over Princeton Community, Gibson Southern, and Evansville Reitz to headline their resume. Senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1561076' first='Bryson' last='Chapman'] has been the star of the show averaging 17.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Junior guard Grant Pieterek is one to watch as well. He is averaging 10.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. The Huskies head north to the annual Fishers Holiday Tournament on January 2nd and 3rd.

Portage Indians (8-0)

Up north there hasn't been a more impressive start to the season than what Portage has done. The Indians lost a lot to graduation but haven't missed a beat. Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2141030' first='Karter' last='Kobe'] has been absolutely excellent leading the way with 23.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 3.3 steals per game. Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='2538890' first='Bryce' last='Kobe'] adds 15.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 3.3 steals per game. Junior guard Dennis Moran III rounds out a talented three-headed backcourt monster averaging 14.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Portage will play Bowman Academy in the championship game of the Highland Tournament on Saturday.

Shenandoah Raiders (5-0)

Shenandoah is hosting their own holiday tournament and could be on a collison course to play Class 4A Anderson in the championship game. The Raiders are led by sharp-shooting senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2541107' first='Aiden' last='Coffey'] who is averaging 18.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 15-28 (53.6%) from three-point range. Zane Mitchell and Garrett May are two other seniors to know for the Raiders.

West Central Trojans (7-0)

Prep Hoops Indiana first identified the Trojans as a Top 10 team last week and moved them up to #6 in our Class 1A Top 10 this week following their win over Washington Township. They currently are on a long break before playing Rensselaer Central on January 8th. Talented sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='2371868' first='Brady' last='Bishop'] is having an excellent season for West Central. He leads the team averaging 16.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2137241' first='Brendan' last='Grindstaff'] 13.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists while sophomore Tate Leman adds 11.2 points per game. West Central's only senior is their current 10th leading scorer.
