Sporting a new uniform at one of the top returning scorers in the area will be suiting up for the Washington High school Pam Pack. The lefty combo had an impressive summer with his new team showcasing that he can be just as effective scoring on or off the ball. He also averaged an impressive 10 rebounds per game last season from the guard spot, a testament to his willingness to go do the dirty work when needed.

Flying a tad under the radar but high above the rim, Brandon Smith of Pasquotank High School is one of the top scorers and athletes returning in the area code. Last season he averaged 17 points just under six rebounds two assists with one block and steal per contest. The high flying do it all forward has the ability to handle the ball and run the offense when need and gets off his high elevating jump shot over most defenders. With the young guys in the fold expect Pasquotank to be a solid team overall and one of the more exciting teams in the area.

The returning wing on a 19 win Kinston squad that has State Championship aspirations should be in for a big senior year. Wiggins showed off a different “bag” than we are accustom to this summer dominating with both [program_tooltip program_id='2078546' first='Team' last='Trezz'] Baker and in Kinston's summer events. He handled the ball a lot more freely and shot the ball really well when getting to his spots in the mid range. He's a downhill first guy who doesn't mind picking up the other team‘s best player on the defensive end as well.

Bell could've been listed with the lead guards but due to his combo guard skill set and knack for scoring the ball we listed him here. The sniper from West Carteret averaged 16 points per contest last season and carried it over into a it solid summer as well. He's a score first guard who can get his jumper off from deep using his quick release and shifty handle while doing a solid job of getting his teammates involved as well.

A four year varsity starter who has already amassed over 1000 points in his career is for sure one of the top players going into this season. The two sport athlete is a well built “power guard” who gets where he wants on the floor using his strong frame and solid mid range shooting ability. Defensively he's a guy who will pick you up the length of the floor and harass opposing teams point guards. In the new 8 classification NCHSAA format don't sleep on Northside Pinetown in the 1A division.
