We had over 100 prospects in the gym this past weekend to watch them compete in 3 on 3 and live 5 on 5 action in front of college coaches and scouts. It's important for us to provide a personal evaluation for each and every player that participated in our event. This article will provide evaluations for each member of Team 5. Let's dive in!

-Played hard at both ends of the floor regardless of the score in the game at the time. Omar has pretty good feel about where to be defensively, just would like to see him stunt at the ball-handler more often-- if not to force a turnover, just forcing the ballhandler to hesitate and allow his teammate to get back into the play. In a showcase environment where defensive assignments and rotations can get a bit confused on teams filled with players that have never played together--Omar always worked hard to make the extra rotation, often guarding three different opponents in one possession.

-Thought Gross took the right opportunities to show what he can do as a creator in the halfcourt without dominating the ball. He collected an offensive rebound and hit the floater on his team's second possession, sized up his opponent and hit the face up 3, and patiently waited for the defender to fly by in transition after catching a pass to then lay the ball up off the window. While Gross has it on a string and looks comfortable handling the rock in the half court, he needs to put on muscle to prevent defenders from bumping him off his spot on drives to the rim and allow him to play through contact to finish around the rim.

-The chemistry with his PGs was undeniable as a knockdown shooter that timed his lifts from the corner/wing exceptionally well to mirror his teammates' drives to the rim. Daw showed his ability to stretch the floor with four made 3s in the second game along, confidently stepping in to each look from different points on the floor. Loved the intangibles that I saw from Daw as well as he was hustling hard in the halfcourt for offensive rebounds, sprinting back in transition to contest shots or force the opponent to dribble the ball back out, flying around defensively in the halfcourt to stunt at ballhandlers after they beat a teammate off the dribble or to track down a loose ball, and rotating quickly out to shooters to make them put the ball on the floor. Daw's best play came on a double crossover where he then split the screen to lay it in with the left off the window.

-Strong guard with a big frame that uses his size to bully his way to his spots in the halfcourt. Wise was running the floor hard and active on the glass-- thought that he played aggressively despite young age. Want to see him use more ball fakes and jabs before he starts his dribble to get his matchup off balance because it will open up more scoring opportunities in the halfcourt. Unselfish passer that will deliver a timely pass to a teammate as soon as he sees them open. Wise brings that same unselfish approach to the defensive end of the floor where he communicates at a high level, rotates to stunt at an opponent who got past their man, and provides great help without fouling shooters.

Loved the tenacity from Skinner throughout the day as a forward whose motor always runs pretty hot. Skinner ran the floor hard, has a good frame, barely missed a putback at the rim but grabbed three offensive boards in one possession alone, played unselfishly on the perimeter to set screens and run DHOs to get teammates open, and did a good job of guarding on the perimeter. Skinner's best play came on a euro step finish in traffic, scoring off the reverse layup just past the defender. Form looked good on a jumper from the top of the key

-Did a really good job of ordering team 5 to emphasize spacing and timing with his team so that the ball flowed well throughout the afternoon. Manning was probably the top performing PG on the day but also showed the improved skillset as a defender and scorer. Manning scored off a steal and lay, hit a C+S 3 in transition from the wing, dribbled into a 3 from the top of the key, took advantage of a ballhandler not paying attention to poke out a steal and finish at the rim at the other end, hit his defender with a hesi into the spin move and lay off glass. The most impressive play for me was when the ball came off his fingers fast after collecting a steal to whip it to a teammate upcourt for 2. Just the speed of his scan up floor and how quickly it converted into him throwing that 1-handed dime to his teammate shows his development even since the end of last season.

-Nice set of ball skills for his size and position, jumper looks fluid and consistent

-Moves well off the ball and understands how to free himself up for easy backdoor layups off of cuts without clogging the lane for his guards

-Unselfish teammate that makes the extra play, kicks out to teammates without turning the ball over

-Soft touch in the paint with the right, can score on the move or hit short touch shots that are usually difficult for any position group other than PG to send through the net

-Point guard with an explosive change of pace that doesn't need a ball screen to get to his spots in the halfcourt

-Pretty good feel for a player this young, shows a good understanding of when he needs to score himself and when he needs to create for others

-Generates a ton of paint touches for his team and makes the most of them with timely passes to open teammates but can also score with a mix of floaters and short jumpers

-Leverages his size to really put pressure on the ball defensively, serving as an effective POA defensive pesk in the halfcourt that can also be deployed to wreak havoc in fullcourt defensive schemes

-Changes gears smoothly to take advantage of good reads in the halfcourt

-Good scoring touch in the paint as a guard that is constantly in motion

-Want to see him keep his head up for longer stretches when scanning the defense at the beginning of the possession at the top of they key to see opening passing or driving windows
