Pre Season Bump: 2027 Fall Ball Notables

Fall leagues and preseason showcases across New Jersey have been in full swing since last month. Throughout September and early October, a mix of under-the-radar players and already established prospects have delivered standout performances that have caught plenty of attention. After attending several fall leagues and preseason showcases over the past couple of months, here are some notable 2027 prospects who have made strong impressions during fall ball so far.    Expected to be a key contributor in St. Joe's Metuchen's rotation at the guard position, [player_tooltip player_id='2895818' first='Imaad' last='Johnson'] put together an impressive performance at The Preview in Queens, NY earlier this month, that should foreshadow much of what's to come this upcoming high school season. Providing a nice scoring punch offensively in their matchup against Holy Cross (NY), Johnson excelled as a versatile and efficient shot maker within the flow of the offense— knocking down a number of open looks off the catch and even flashing his ability to shoot it off the bounce with a couple of mid range pull ups. Johnson's most impressive moment throughout the course of that game however, came when he knocked down a game winning C+S three to close it out for St. Joe's.     A standout from Bloomfield High School's fall league, [player_tooltip player_id='2347281' first='Nairi' last='Latham'] has showcased a dynamic playmaking ability that makes him a constant offensive weapon. He's stood out not only as a lethal perimeter shooter but also as a smart decision-maker who can create opportunities for his teammates. Latham has proven to be a tough shot maker off the dribble, displaying deep shooting range and confidently hitting contested threes with smooth mechanics. He's also demonstrated strong reads in the PnR, delivering precise passes when defenses blitzed ball screens.     Since transferring to Morris Catholic and stepping into the role of being an effective floor general, [player_tooltip player_id='2786681' first='Cam' last='White'] has had a number of impressing showings so far this fall. White has excelled as a shot maker particularly in the in between area mixing it up between mid range pull ups and soft touch floaters. Often times seen setting the table for Morris Catholic's offense, White has also impressed with his decision making and facilitating whether it be making the extra pass and getting his teammate a better look or getting in the paint and spraying out to open shooters.     Often times playing very well within himself with excellent fundamentals and rarely ever getting sped up, [player_tooltip player_id='2421360' first='Tom' last='Diomedi'] has stood out with his efficiency and feel as a scorer. Diomedi thrives at attacking from the perimeter, both out of the triple threat position and when attacking closeouts, converting on several strong drives while also mixing in some mid range pull ups. A fundamentally sound basketball player, Diomedi is also highly effective playing off two feet and maintaining balance through contact, as he consistently uses shot fakes to create space and finish around defenders.     [player_tooltip player_id='1406765' first='Milak' last='Myatt'] is a talented scoring guard with a natural ability to put the ball in the basket, showcasing his scoring prowess at all three levels with every showing. Shining ealirer this fall athe West Chester Big 64, he's displayed creativity off the dribble, combining crafty finishes in traffic with smooth midrange shot making and confident perimeter shooting off the bounce. Myatt's also demonstrated his playmaking instincts, showing good vision and the ability to find open teammates on the perimeter.     Through a couple of showings at Hoop Group's Fall HS League, [player_tooltip player_id='2202020' first='Avery' last='Lynch'] has proven to be an excellent floor spacing threat from the perimeter, showcasing a fluid, in-rhythm catch and shoot stroke that consistently punishes defenders for late closeouts during Monday's action. Beyond his shooting, Lynch displayed a well-rounded offensive game and strong feel for the flow of play—initiating offense, moving intelligently without the ball, cutting into open space, connecting plays as a passer, and even making his presence felt on the offensive glass.     Earlier this fall at the Rattyfam Classic, [player_tooltip player_id='2201949' first='Ayyub' last='Wilson'] turned heads in his aggressive perimeter mindset, looking for his shot from beyond the arc and connecting on a pair of early three-pointers. Heading into his junior year, Wilson appears to be playing with increased confidence as a shooter, showing the ability to make shots both off the catch and off the dribble. Using his quickness and creativity off the bounce, he's also been much of himself, consistently getting into the paint—finishing with craftiness in traffic and creating quality scoring opportunities for his teammates.     One of the more impressive performers this fall with his eye popping and explosive athleticism, JKhai Singletary has excelled in transition, effectively initiating offense and pushing the break while also proving to be highly effective as a lane runner—often times finishing plays above the rim. He showed glimpses of his perimeter shooting touch, displaying a smooth, compact release. Singletary also utilized his length, athleticism, and high motor to make his presence felt on both ends of the floor—impacting the game on the offensive glass and consistently contesting shots at the rim.     De-An Armstrong has been highly effective as a versatile perimeter shooter, especially on the move—coming off screens and catching and shooting with confidence. He consistently seeks out scoring opportunities particularly from beyond the three point arc, consistently knocking down open looks from three point range. Armstrong's shooting ability, combined with the closeouts he draws as a dangerous three point threat, helps open up additional avenues for offense, allowing him to attack the rim when defenses overcommit to his outside shot.     A standout from Hoop Group's Fall Mid-Atlantic Elite Camp earlier this month, [player_tooltip player_id='2926799' first='Jayden' last='Cummings'] stood out with his eye popping athleticism, fluid perimeter shooting, and his defensive energy. A guard with interesting length and quick anticipation skills, Cummings was regularly seen turning defense into offense and highlighting his athleticism with a number of above the rim finishes. In terms of half court offense, Cummings showcased his ability to be a threat from three point range, knocking down a number of open looks from the perimeter.     At MADE Hoops' East HSA earlier this month, [player_tooltip player_id='2573746' first='Brandon' last='Johnson'] showcased an impressive blend of size and fluidity on the wing, standing out with his efficient and versatile scoring ability. Throughout live game action, he consistently kept defenders off balance with his smooth in rhythm perimeter shooting off the catch, confident mid range pull ups off the dribble, and crafty finishes at the rim in transition.
