The top prospect in Ohio's 2026 class, Thompson has elevated his game to five star status and it is easy to see why when watching him. The 3-point shooting ability of Thompson is now effortless as he's added strength to his frame and barely needs to jump to get his shot off above smaller defenders. Rising into the top 10 of national rankings, Thompson has narrowed down his list of schools and is taking a visit to Indiana this weekend which is one of his finalists. Indiana had a coach in to see him this week while the other finalists include Ohio State, Michigan, North Carolina, Kentucky and Texas.

My top performer of the day, Sprague barely missed a shot and was locked in the entire practice on both ends of the court. The strong and compact guard did a nice job of getting to the paint off DHO and pick and roll actions and used both hands to finish past shot contests. Shooting the ball with confidence, I got to see Sprauge play with a freedom that you don't get to see as a bench option for City Rocks on the EYBL circuit. Always nice to see kids in different settings and Sprague played a role in the summer but could see more offensive responsibility game in and game out this winter.

A new name for myself to discover, Hailey played on the EYBL circuit for Expressions and recently took a visit to Umass, one of 10 schools to offer him so far. Hailey has some impressive wiggle with the ball in his hands and created offense almost every time he attacked. Definitely one of the more talented guards now playing in Ohio, Hailey will debut pretty high in our Prep Hoops Ohio rankings when they are updated this winter.

Moving from Colorado, McCanna has reclassified to the 2027 class after being a 2026 prospect for Evergreen High School. After scoring 13 points and grabbing 9 rebounds a game for his high school program, McCanna is looking to be challenged on a daily basis at practice with lots of size in the paint. Right now, McCanna is a tough cover for opposing bigs due to his size, strength and motor. Not afraid to get physical and throw his body around, skinnier bigs will have a very tough time dealing with McCanna in the paint. Division I target to watch in the 2027 class.

It's still early for 2027 prospects to be recruited as many schools are focusing on 2026 prospects but Fox seems like one of the more underrecruited kids in the state of Ohio. With his skillset at his size I'd expect a lot more schools to have offered him and I think it's only a matter of time before he starts racking up offers left and right. Fox has a sweet lefty shooting stroke and has the length to be a help-side rim protector. If Fox can consistently score in the paint and play tough, he'll be an impactful player for this Western Reserve Academy squad.
