Midwest Fall League: Guard Standouts

Moving at a different speed on the ball, Mattucci got to the paint whenever he wanted using a variety of dribble moves. Able to play above the rim, Mattucci had a couple breakaway dunks and finished through traffic. It was nice to see Mattucci start to dominate as a slasher after some early jumpers didn't fall. Another underrated part of his game is his passing ability, which should help him as a ball mover at the college level. Late in the game, Stanley got a clutch offensive rebound to help secure a victory. That should come as no surprise as he averaged a team high 11 PPG as a junior for Jamestown Greenview. Whenever a forward would get doubled or draw help, Rice was ready to catch and shoot quickly before the defense could rotate to him. Keeping the game simple as a role player will allow you to shoot a high percentage and limit turnovers, two crucial skills for role players.
