Scott Heady - UIndy Elite Camp Top Performing Bigs

Elite Camps are used throughout the country as recruiting tools to get prospects on campus. 80+ prospects from all around the Midwest took the court on Sunday at the Scott Heady – UIndy Basketball Camp is taking place at Nicoson Arena on the campus of the University of Indianapolis. Here are the top performing bigs at camp.    The 6'8” product out of Ben Davis arguably had the best showing at the UIndy Camp. Extremely high motor big man that affects the game on both ends of the floor. He was the best rebounder at camp and he did on both ends. Long wingspan and a good eye for seeing the ball off the rim. Defensively he is a physical presence that alters or blocks any shot in the paint. On the offensive end, he's a garbage basket big man with an improving midrange jumper. He sets good screens and rolls hard to the rim where he looks to finish strong.     The UIndy Elite Camp was my third time getting to see [player_tooltip player_id='2831756' first='Zach' last='McCormack'] and each time I've come away more impressed than the last time. The 6'9” stretch big from Bishop Chatard is a fluid athlete that is only scratching the surface of what he could be. Has a thin frame, but his skill set for his size is very intriguing. Has the ability to step out and hit the three, which he did multiple times on Sunday. Hes a good screen setter where he does a good job of either popping out or rolling hard to the basket where he can finish above the rim or with a soft touch. Defensively he's a good rim protector with his length and an improbing rebounder.     [player_tooltip player_id='2414955' first='Luke' last='Vandegriff'], a 6'10” Center out of Westfield is a strong frame that continues to get better and better after each outing. He possesses soft feet and good hands when posting up. He has the ability to stay on balance when backing down an opponent and showed he can score with a jump hook over the left shoulder or he likes the quick spin to get him right at the basket where he's looking to flush it. Defensively he does a good job staying vertical. He's not the most athletic post player, but plays with his hands up and rebounds his area.     The UIndy Elite Camp is the second time I've gotten to evaluate [player_tooltip player_id='2046154' first='Lewis' last='Harvey'] of Ben Davis, and he continues to impress me with his motor and athleticism. He plays hard on both ends of the floor and is a difference maker with his size and length. He's a fluid athlete that runs the floor that is looking to finish above the rim any chance he can. Not a strength at this point but has shown the potential for the future to drive close outs. Also was comfortable taking spot up threes, but for now he's more of a garbage basket big offensively. Defensively he's a switchable defender that can guard all over the court. He moves his feet well and uses his size to his advantage when guarding on the perimeter. With his athleticism he's an active rim protector that does a good job staying vertical.
