Our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase is arguably the most popular event that we put on each year. Not only is it a great opportunity for our staff to get an early evaluation of some of the most talented freshmen before the begin their high school career, but it also serves as an important evaluation/recruiting tool for our state's many great AAU programs. This year we welcomed in over 100 of the best Class of 2029 prospects here in Indiana. Here are some of the top individual performers that our scouts identified from the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.

This long, lean, left-handed wing/forward from Bloomington High School North really turned some heads at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. His versatile offensive presence included some catch-and-shoot perimeter shots, straight line drives to the rim from the perimeter, and the use of his length to score around the basket. There was definitely some buzz surrounding Bridgwaters' upside when talking to our team of scouts as well as AAU coaches, scouting services, and other trusted voices in attendance.

Brown Jr. was definitely one of the most impressive young big men in attendance. We were able to see him briefly in June with Gary Lighthouse when they attended the Indiana University Team Camp and even his growth just since then has been very impressive. The 6'7" center is a lob threat on the roll, plays out of the dunker's spot, and is a rim protector on the defensive end of the floor. His two-way impact around the basket earned him top performer honors at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.

Hamilton Southeastern is loaded with veteran talent this season, but Buckley looks like he will be one of the "next up" for the Royals. The 6'0" guard is a very talented playmaker that consistently made his teams better on Sunday at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Whether it was during 3-on-3 or 5-on-5 play, Buckley was able to get into the paint, draw the attention of multiple defenders, and make the correct play. He is a talented scorer in the intermediate range as well as what he can do as a passer from anywhere on the floor. Continuing to watch his development will be fun for years to come.

Crown Point High School is sufficiently loaded with talent right now. From a pair of Division I commits in the senior class all of the way down to their incoming freshman, they have one of the deepest pools of talent in the state right now. Hughes was a new name that jumped onto our radar at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 5'10" guard did a little bit of everything throughout the day. He shot it well from beyond the arc, looked poised and comfortable in the mid-range, and had enough burst to get downhill and finish around the basket. Definitely one to watch for down the road for the Bulldogs.

You can tell very quickly that Lee is a plug-and-play sort of guy. In a 3-on-3 setting when the ball was in hands more often he was a capable scorer and facilitator. Then, in 5-on-5 play, he was willing and able to excel in his role. The Homestead High School wing is versatile on both ends of the floor across multiple positions and has a very bright future ahead. We are anxious to continue watching him develop over the years as part of what looks to be a pretty good young crop of talent at Homestead.

Powell was one of the prospects that we were not familiar with coming into the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. However, that is exactly why we host this event. He admittedly grabbed our attention in 3-on-3 by catching fire from beyond the arc. The 6'1" guard was making stepbacks, catch-and-shoot looks from well beyond the arc, and hit a couple on the move as well. It was an incredibly impressive shot-making display. His ability then translated to 5-on-5 play as he stayed hot from three-point range. Powell, a freshman at Edgewood High School, was one of the best shooters in the gym on Sunday.

Events like this are very important for prospects from small schools around the state. It is a great way to compare yourself against peers you may not see otherwise and is a good chance for evaluators to see you against a high level of competition. Siltz certainly made a believer out of us with his play on Sunday. The 6'2" wing/forward from Henryville High School was consistently productive with a well-rounded offensive game. He uses a series of shot fakes, spin moves, and change of pace to keep the defense off balance and get to where he wants to go on the floor.

Wilkins was an impressive guard from down in southern Indiana at Floyd Central High School. The 5'11" shot-maker looked most comfortable when playing off of the ball where he could space the floor as a three-point shooter or catch and dribble into a quick pull-up. However, Wilkins also spent some time on the ball as a playmaker. His ability to fill either guard spot makes him even more valuable in the backcourt. Wilkins consistency of putting the ball in the basket at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase led to him earning top performer honors.
