Every year the Bullis School puts on a top tier small college showcase for local prospects to compete in front of college coaches. The competition includes skill work in stations under the guidance of the college coaches, 3 on 3 halfcourt games , and 5 on 5 full court games. It's always a great place to see some new faces in the rising senior class as we peak around the corner at our rankings updates starting next week. Let's dive in first with the top wings and forwards from the event!

-Thought Greenwood was the MVP of the showcase and also was probably the best shooter on the floor through each of the different game segments. Greenwood moves to space really well off the ball to create clean looks at the rim. He steps into shots confidently, can get off his shot over most defenders due to good positional size, and takes advantage of the shooting gravity to make cross-court passes to teammates for open looks knowing that the ball will find him on subsequent possessions. Liked that he was aggressive offensively but wasn't forcing anything, didn't try to dribble or pass through tight windows and executed on the simple read quickly. Think he's got a real chance to earn a scholarship this season given the premium that is currently being placed on shooters at his size.

-Keep coming away impressed with Zedak's all around game as a guard/wing tweener that can help his team win games in a myriad of ways. He always has active hands defensively to poke out steals both on or off the ball. He has proven to be a consistent scorer and C+S shooter on the perimeter but also finds opportunities to sneak in to steal rebounds from bigs. And in this showcase he did a great job of the one-more pass--specifically moving the ball from one side to the other to get his team a great look at the basket. He's made improvements to his body, usually comes up with 50/50 balls in a crowd, and prioritizes winning over stats.

-Impressed with a steady inside/out performance in the showcase to both stretch the floor and use his size to score over smaller defenders in the paint--often scoring on putbacks around the basket. Collins has good instincts and understands how to move to space both with and without the ball in his hands to make the defense cover more ground and communicate. Collins is a capable team defender that rotates well regardless of where he is on the floor-- always keeping his head up to stunt at opposing drivers or to tag a roller. His positional size and perimeter shooting should give him a great chance at a scholarship

-In an era that sees kids in showcase settings often deviate from their game in an effort to get noticed, Clausen is a breath of fresh air. He really picked his spots quite well in the showcase, never trying to do too much with the ball in his hands while showing his shooting ability from the perimeter. He's got good positional size, moves really well off the ball to open space, competes defensively and sets good screens both on or off the ball. Love that he raced back in transition with consistency and had a good understanding of rotation responsibilities to force several bad shots or to make the ballhandler dribble it out to set up an action. Feel like he can play with almost anyone because of how well he adjusts to his teammates.

-I've seen Apergis a few times and came away the most impressed with him in this event because of how he is getting from point A to B. He's not doing anything fancy with the dribble, just getting from the wings to the rim efficiently and without losing the ball or traveling. Hop steps, euro's, pivots in the paint, spin moves-- love seeing the skill development without over-dribbling. Apergis showed that he can also space the floor by knocking down open looks from beyond the arc, made several tough catches in traffic to finish through double teams, and used his matchup's momentum against them quite well to change directions and get to the hoop. Should be a key piece for an Episcopal team that should have a chance to win the league this season.

-My first time seeing the big man from and I came away impressed with his upside as a prospect. Einorson is quite skilled for a big-- he can shoot it with range, passes it well from the perimeter and from the low block, understands when he needs to set an on or off-ball screen and when he needs to back up to space the floor to drivers ( a particularly difficult nuance for young forwards), and walls up well defensively to force misses around the rim. Had two beautiful passes on B2B possessions-- a wrap-around bounce pass to a cutter on the move and a one-handed whip pass to a shooter from the low block. Expect him to have a pretty big role in his junior season with a Bulldogs team that can use his post presence and secondary play-making as they look to extend their streak of IAC Championships.
