The CBG Fall Team Camp took place at the Henrico Sports and Event Center this past weekend, with two days of action featuring some top tier teams from Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. With four courts of action and over 30 teams in attendance, there were a number of players who made an impression on the coaches and scouts in attendance. Here's a look at part two of some of the top 2027 performers in the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='2898053' first='Shane' last='McAfee'] | 6'8” C | Saint Michael

McAfee is coming back from an injury he sustained in the summer, and he looked healthy and ready to make a major impact for St. Michael as they look to make another deep run in the VISAA D-III state tournament. He brings something they were sorely lacking last year, which is a true inside presence who can impact the game in the paint on both ends of the floor. He showed great hands to catch tough passes and nimble feet to make moves in the post, he showed good touch with both hands around the rim and in traffic, and he did a good job altering shots without fouling on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='2548299' first='Isaiah' last='Savage'] | 6'3” WF | Saint Michael

Savage was a prospect who broke out last fall in the Prep Hoops Expo and the CBG Fall Series, and he's known for his explosive athleticism but he's starting to round out his game to be able to make plays for himself and others as well. He had highlight moments playing above the rim in transition and pulling down some impressive rebounds for his size, and he also is a very good defender both on the ball and in help side with his ability to challenge shots. He showed improvement off the bounce with shifty crossovers and good counter moves, he finished well in the middle game and made shots off the catch, and he showed a good feel for making plays for others as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2815333' first='Baur' last='Lloyd'] | 6'3” WG | EPL Elite (Blue Ridge)

Lloyd was a very impactful player off the bench for a talented Blue Ridge team last year, and he came down to play for EPL Elite and showed he's ready to take on a bigger role in their rotation this year. The 6'3” off guard can really knock it down from deep off the catch, but he impressed with his ability to create space off the bounce with step backs and set his feet quickly coming off of screens and in transition to make shots on the move. He exhibited a great motor on the defensive end moving his feet well and jumping passing lanes, he got to spots in the midrange and got to the rim where he drew contact to get to the line, and even on a showcase team he consistently made the right play time and time again,

[player_tooltip player_id='2898023' first='Christian' last='Tabb'] | 6'2” CG | EPL Elite (Grace Christian)

Tabb had a breakout summer with RockIt Sports on the MHC Circuit, and after transferring from Manchester to Grace Christian and reclassifying he looks like he'll be one of the top guards in the Richmond area this season. At 6'2” he has good size and long arms to go along with cat like quickness off the bounce, as he showed good shiftiness and the ability to create space and make off balance shots look easy. He is an athletic finisher who can get downhill and draws contact well, he jumps passing lanes and has all the tools to be a lock down on ball defender, and he has the innate ability to use his athleticism to make plays for himself and others off the bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id='1574509' first='Jayden' last='Brown'] | 6'3” CG | CBG Elite (STAB)

Brown has been a staple for the CBG Elite teams over the past three years, and as someone who has seen him since he was a freshman I can confidently say he is one of the most improved players in the state, and a player D1 coaches should get familiar with. The 6'3” combo was dynamite off the bounce for much of the weekend, and he had the play of the event when he split a trap and absolutely posterized a defender with one hand that shut down the gym. He showed his knock down shooting ability from deep both off the catch and off the bounce, he made plays for others and used his ability to push in transition or get in the paint to break down the defense and made good reads, and as we've come to take for granted he was an absolute dog on the defensive end too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2399485' first='Samuel' last='Seaborn'] | 6'5” WG | CBG Elite (Western Albemarle)

Seaborn had a breakout sophomore season for a Western team that is one of the most underrated teams in the VHSL Class 3 division this year, and he'll be a big part with his ability to knock it down at a high clip from deep while also being able to score in a number of different ways. At 6'5” he has great positional size and with a relatively quick release he's the type of player who doesn't need a ton of space to torch you from deep. He showed excellent range off the catch and when he got hot he was able to take over games, he can attack closeouts and is sneaky shifty off the bounce with change of pace and good finishing ability around the rim, and he has a great IQ and good instincts on both ends of the floor too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2624494' first='Ben' last='Kalonji'] | 6'8” PF | CBG Elite (Massanutten)

Kalonji is a player who debuted at the CBG Fall Series last year after coming over from the Republic of Congo, and we've watched him develop from a super raw athlete with very little experience, to a nationally ranked prospect that high major coaches are starting to keep tabs on. The 6'8” forward was perhaps the highest ceiling prospect in attendance, as he showed his ability to impact the game without needing the ball in his hands very much, but it's his improvement on the offensive side that is the most eye opening thing about him. He showed good athleticism and quickness around the rim to finish in traffic and above the rim, he is starting to be able to knock down shots from deep consistently, he has learned to read defenses at the high post and deliver on point passes, and he is always going to be elite as a rim protector and rim runner as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470549' first='Makel' last='Minor'] | 6'2” CG | CBG Elite (James Monroe)

Minor was pivotal in Bishop O'Connell making a run to the VISAA D-I state championship game last year, and he decided to return to his hometown public school James Monroe where he could lead the state in scoring if he scores the ball the way he did at the event last weekend. He is one of those natural and elite level scorers, as he can fill it up on or off the ball and he makes incredibly tough shots look very easy. He showed deep range past the NBA line not just off the catch but on walk downs and step backs as well, he got to spots in the midrange using his change of pace and hesitations and made shots with pretty much no space consistently, and he was able to get downhill and draw contact or finish with both hands over bigger and more athletic defenders.
