A top 10 national prospect in the 2028 class, Mercer spent his freshman season at Huntington Prep and now plays for Rod Wave Elite in the OTE league. Mercer has won everywhere he's played at, taking home the FIBA AmeriCup championship as well as the Peach Jam 16 U title. Mercer will be playing alongside a handful of high major prospects for RWE this season and they will likely continue to bolster the roster with many of their top players headed to the college level after this season. The Cincinnati native has already made his mark nationally as one of the most recognizable faces in high school basketball.

Another Cincinnati area prospect, Cosby was playing for Lakota West in June going into his freshman season alongside 2027 stars [player_tooltip player_id='2125748' first='Joshua' last='Tyson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2140178' first='Bryce' last='Curry']! Cosby opted to head to OTE before beginning his freshman season so just like Mercer, he never actually played a regular season game at the OHSAA level. Cosby spent this summer on the Puma Circuit playing for 444 Athletics and is regarded as a top 15 prospect in the country.

The last Cincinnati area prospect of the article, Henry played a few games for Cincinnati Withrow during his freshman season before bouncing around and landing at Mater Dei for his Sophomore campaign. Henry also won the 15 U Peach Jam title for Team Why Not and will attend AZ Compass Prep, one of the top prep schools in the country for his Junior season. Henry has continued to see his stock rise as he gets more comfortable growing into his body. Henry has earned national recognition for his play and has numerous high majors recruiting him. Ohio State has secured a commitment from his older brother, a 5 star wide receiver.

Staying in Ohio for prep school, Foster moved from Lima to Geneva as Spire begins their Nike Scholastic era under new Head Coach Kevin Boyle. The lone Ohio native on the Nike Scholastic roster at the moment, Foster is an elite shooter he already has a handful of high major offers. Foster leaves behind a Lima Sr program that still expects to contend for a Division II state title with a handful of talented guards still on the roster.

Another prospect headed to Spire, Reynolds will be playing for the international varsity team at Spire coached by Brendan Boyle. Reynolds has a handful of mid major offers after a summer with Olentangy Liberty and Nova Village. Reynolds continues the trend of prospects gaining momentum with their high school program during June live periods before leaving prior to the next high school season.

Another OTE prospect, Lewis leaves Ohio as the tallest player in the OHSAA standing at 7 feet tall. Lewis had a strong career for two seasons at Maumee Valley Country Day where he already was the career leader in blocked shots. Lewis will hope to continue to develop his body and handle physicality with the OTE program. Lots of upside with Lewis who will certainly be a name to watch for Division I programs as it's tough to find 7 footers anywhere.

The most recent transfer to a prep program, Ivery will attend the Phelps School in Pennsylvania. Ivery broke out last season for Columbus Academy, helping his team make the Division V state title game. One of the most explosive athletes in the 2027 class from Ohio, Ivery has the ability to play above the rim with ease. Brandon Ivery from the class of 2023 also left Ohio to play in California as a junior before returning to Columbus as a senior.

One of the prime breakout candidates in Ohio this winter, Manigat was slated to play a major role for a Lutheran East squad that was already without superstar Tj Crumble. The hits kept coming for the Falcons as Manigat announced he'd be spending his junior season at Bella Vista Prep. With a ton of natural talent and shot-making ability, Manigat has the potential to become a household name out west but will be fighting with numerous Division I commits for playing time at the prep level.
