Expert Analysis

Another OTE prospect, Lewis leaves Ohio as the tallest player in the OHSAA standing at 7 feet tall. Lewis had a strong career for two seasons at Maumee Valley Country Day where he already was the career leader in blocked shots. Lewis will hope to continue to develop his body and handle physicality with the OTE program. Lots of upside with Lewis who will certainly be a name to watch for Division I programs as it’s tough to find 7 footers anywhere.

Lewis who is slowly starting to scratch the surface as a prospect made a mark throughout the game with his precise vision of the floor. He frequently converted on tough passes and was able to find his teammates in all the right place on the floor. He really thinks the game at a high clip. He used his length to alter shots and found ways to rebound. Lewis also showed some flashes around the bucket with scoring.

Lewis is one of the most interesting prospects at this event and in the entire NWO area. He is listed at 6’11 and hit a growth spurt from his freshman year to now. Even with the inches added to his height, he seems to be moving better and more fluid. He understands the game better and isn’t just a raw tall kid anymore. He can knock down a jumper in the midrange and even hit a three when left open. His moves in the post have improved as well due to his touch and scoring threat. Expect a big year from Lewis.

Lewis was the biggest player in the event and used that to his advantage. He is getting taller and bigger and growing into his body is something that is coming along with it. He moves well and that makes him a force on the offensive and defensive end. He has good moves in the post with touch. He is a true rim protector with him being ability to cover space. Showed good passing too with cleaning up the glass all day.

The only center who made our initial rankings, Lewis was a player we saw at our freshman showcase and at the Toledo Top 64. Another player who has a long way to go, Lewis upside is very easy to see. Lewis has excellent size for a player his age and seems to be still developing into his body. Starting for Maumee Valley Country Day as a freshman, Lewis flashed offensive upside while also being a defensive force as a rim protector. Lewis set a school record for blocks in a season as a freshman with 51, a number he’s likely to break next year if he can stay healthy. A name to know in northwest Ohio, Lewis will be a highly monitored player as it’s crucial to consiscently check in on how young bigs are developing.

Lewis has not played a high school basketball game yet but got the invitation because this kid has all the tools you’d want out of a big player. This kid is very tall as he is listed at 6’7 and seems like he will get taller. He is not skinny either. Has some good-sized legs with an upper body that will get bigger and stronger over time. He has a really good touch around the rim and is someone whose shots are very hard to even contest. He has a high motor. Consistently runs the floor and plays hard. He will be someone that everyone will want to see play heading into his first high school season.
