On Saturday and Sunday (8/9 – 8/10), I attended MIT's prospect camp at their hoops facility in Cambridge, MA. There were about 150 players and 10+ teams to watch, but I think I got a solid read on the talent there (as solid as is possible in 2 days). However, I'm never able to see every single player, so it's always possible that great talent slips through the cracks.

With that being said, below is my MIT prospect camp second team.

Li first caught my eye with his ability to cause havoc on the defensive end, both on and off the ball. He came up with multiple deflections in the passing lanes but was also very difficult to dribble against in the half court because of his quick hands and instincts. Offensively, the 6-foot-1 guard showed some really solid scoring ability from all three levels, though he took some questionable shots here and there. Regardless, he's ultra skilled with the ball in his hands and can get to anywhere on the court via the dribble. He can also make good decisions in the lane for his teammates when the help comes. He should find a very high level D3 fit.

Novy-Hildesley was one of the more physically imposing players at MIT's camp. The 6-foot-7 forward has an extremely strong upper body which he uses to carve out space in the paint and collect offensive rebounds. But he can also attack closeouts and keeps an incredibly strong line to the hoop on drives; he's always going north to south and cannot be pushed off. Most impressive was Novy-Hildesley's conditioning, though. He ran the floor like a gazelle all weekend and showcased some really high level toughness and fight. Definite high level D3 big man.

Dukes came all the way from Mississippi and showcased some really intriguing long-term skills. The 6-foot-7 wing is comfortable with the ball in his hands and can operate on the perimeter; he can shoot it from three, he can handle it a bit when attacking closeouts, and he's able and willing to make the simple pass. At the hoop, he has above-the-rim athleticism and some solid touch and craft. He needs to get a little more explosive if he wants to play scholarship ball, but he'll definitely find a high level D3 fit if he keeps developing the way he is. I could totally see him blooming late and really figuring it out on the offensive end.

Lin is only a rising junior but still showcased a really well-rounded skillset at MIT camp. He doesn't have an offensive weakness and is therefore able to play on and off-ball at all three levels on the court. He has excellent vision in the half court and can shoot it from three or use his strength to bully opposing guards under the rim for layups. I loved the way he got to two feet in the lane and was controlled and patient with the rock in his hands. He's a true point guard who should find a high level D3 fit if he continues to develop physically.

Elshihabi is an impressive athlete who can effectively run the show for his squad or play off the ball and take on more of a scoring role. The 6-foot lefty is a talented ball handler who uses his quickness to turn the corner on defenders and can elevate and finish at the rim or kickout to teammates for open threes. He can also shoot it a bit from three, though he has some odd rotation on the ball. Elshihabi has a really good chance to play high level D3 ball and will make a coach very happy with his offensive versatility and willingness to play simple.
