While his stats may have been eye-popping to some – 17 points and 6 rebounds – those who followed the PIL MVP knew he was capable of doing some damage in the shootout. He attacked the basket practically every time he touched it, and if he wasn’t finishing – he shot 7-for-9 from the field – he was drawing the foul. Tough physical play and energy throughout for the future MIT Engineer.

The physical post player had a huge bounce back year. After missing his junior year with an injury, Novy-Hildesley’s play lead the Cardinals to the state playoffs & earned himself league POY. A high academic kid, he committed early in the season to MIT, one of the best academic colleges in the country.

After losing the 2024-25 season to injury, Novy-Hildesley exploded back onto the scene as a senior and was the league’s most dominant inside force. He simply used his devastating combination of strength and athleticism to score over and through defenses in the paint and was also dominant with his rebounding. He could be the slight favorite to capture POY awards, especially as a senior.

With his combination of toughness and underrated athleticism, Novy-Hildesley turned some heads at the Spotlight Invitational. The 6-foot-7 forward played hard-nosed basketball, crashing the offensive boards, and earning some points in the paint through all sorts of contact. He served as an effective rim-runner and was a factor as a shot-blocker on defense. After totally missing last season due to injury, the Lincoln senior looked completely healthy. (JT)

Novy-Hildesley was one of the more physically imposing players at MIT’s camp. The 6-foot-7 forward has an extremely strong upper body which he uses to carve out space in the paint and collect offensive rebounds. But he can also attack closeouts and keeps an incredibly strong line to the hoop on drives; he’s always going north to south and cannot be pushed off. Most impressive was Novy-Hildesley’s conditioning, though. He ran the floor like a gazelle all weekend and showcased some really high level toughness and fight. Definite high level D3 big man.
