The AAU season may officially be over and while yes, we are in a bit of a down period of the year, it does not mean that we cannot look back and highlight some of our prospects from the summer. For me, I will be narrowing down five players in the 2026, 2027, and 2028 class that stood out to me this past summer. Please note that is very difficult to narrow this just down to five as I watched hundreds of prospects from the state over the past few months, I wanted to look at guys that really caught my attention. Here are five guys from the 2028 class that stood out to me this summer.

The 2028 class has some prospects that have a lot of potential and one of those guys is certainly Jaxson DeLaney of Cathedral. Being the son of one of the top coaches in the entire state, the 6'5 forward had a real strong summer for [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] showcasing his versatility. He plays both inside and out and his big frame makes him a tough matchup for any defender. Could see him being a big factor for the Irish this upcoming season.

I saw a lot of skilled wings throughout the summer and one of the more skilled ones was easily [player_tooltip player_id='2539932' first='Barrett' last='Rucker'] of Noblesville High School. Running with a very underrated [program_tooltip program_id='2847679' first='Refined' last='Indiana'] squad, Rucker established himself as 'the guy' for them showcasing his ability to make plays at all levels. He can step out beyond the arc as a shooter, impact the game with his size inside, and has shown the ball skill to compete as a driver and creator. One to watch for Noblesville this season.

It did not take long for the 6'3 wing out of New Palestine, [player_tooltip player_id='2560420' first='Will' last='Davison'], to establish himself as one of the best shooting threats in the entire state. After having a strong freshman season, Davison showed even more increased production throughout the summer using his elite shotmaking to impress. He is circled as one of those guys that many will have eyes on throughout the summer with him transitioning into a big role for New Pal. Would not shocked me if he is the highest scoring sophomore in the state.

As far under-the-radar prospects in the 2028 class that impressed me, Jimtown's [player_tooltip player_id='2617841' first='Dominic' last='Fey'] comes to mind. I got a chance to watch Jimtown in June at Charlie Hughes and Fey was one of the players that I didn't know about a ton before, but left wanting to see more of him. He is a well-rounded offensive player that can do a lot both on and off the ball with microwave scoring potential in any game he is in. Jimtown is going to be a tough team all season, and Fey will lead the charge for them.

Era Elite 2028 was one of my favorite teams to watch all AAU season and the head of the snake for them was 2028 New Albany guard [player_tooltip player_id='2823963' first='Kyron' last='Johnson']. If you want to talk about 2028 prospects that are shifty, quick, and a playmaker on the ball, Johnson should be near the top of that list. He is one of the best at getting his defender off balance and even though he is very short right now, he has a great feel on the floor. A part of that great young core at New Albany.
