Another Indiana-based team to qualify for the 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill next weekend, Indiana Elite Team Crossroads 16u also spent this past weekend in Rock Hill for the Adidas Gold Finals. Johnson, a dynamic 5’10” guard who transferred from New Albany to Charlestown High School for his junior season, had a big weekend including a 26-point performance. Johnson was in double-figures in two other games and was also a consistent playmaker for his teammates throughout the weekend.

This 5’8″ point guard relentlessly attacked the basket on Saturday and generally found success when he got a piece of the paint. Whether he was showing off his athletic finishing ability against opposing size or finding an open teammate for a kick out, Johnson was highly productive with the ball in his hands for Indiana Elite Team Crossroads 16u. His transfer from New Albany to Charlestown should allow him to take on a major role in the backcourt as a junior.

One of my favorite under-the-radar guards to watch in the Indiana Class of 2028 is Kyron Johnson Kyron Johnson IN . Playing for Indiana Elite – Team Crossroads 16U now, Johnson is still the main man in the backcourt most of the time being the guy that is always going to get things going for his team. Just an elite guard when it comes to on-court feel, quickness, and just getting downhill. Looks to have added some size to his frame and looked real good disrupting passing lanes. A guard to keep an eye on moving forward.

Lightning quick guard that thrives in transition. He’s a tempo pushing guard that plays with his eyes up and always looking to get his teammates involved. Really good in the pick and roll as a player that can turn the corner and get to his spot and score or make the right read to the roll man or the corner for a three. Has also shown he’s a capable three-point shooter off the catch. Hard-nosed defender that picks up full court and plays with active hands. A smaller guard that has a dog mentality that makes winning plays on both ends.

Era Elite 2028 was one of my favorite teams to watch all AAU season and the head of the snake for them was 2028 New Albany guard Kyron Johnson Kyron Johnson IN . If you want to talk about 2028 prospects that are shifty, quick, and a playmaker on the ball, Johnson should be near the top of that list. He is one of the best at getting his defender off balance and even though he is very short right now, he has a great feel on the floor. A part of that great young core at New Albany.

5’11” G from Era Sports and New Albany. He was one of the fastest players on the floor in Indy, which allowed for plenty of transition opportunities. Also capable of stopping the break with that speed. Good ability to change direction with the ball and showcased a good jump shot to cap it off. He’s a prospect that’ll be intriguing to watch if he grows.

Is the third member of the back court trio for his team. Caught squad’s first game of the day on Sunday. Impressed mostly from the tip to guard on the ball. Used his quick hands and feet to slow down a couple really good scorers in the first part of the game. Made two clean pick pocketed steals. Possesses solid anticipation for the game and had a nice O board put back to keep team’s momentum.

Kyron Johnson Kyron Johnson IN is a player that I have had a chance to watch a little bit on the Prep Hoops circuit and even though he is on the smaller end right now, he is an extremely impressive on-ball guard. Johnson is a dynamic guard that can change the pace of the game and is able to be playmaker with tight handle on the ball. He is shifty when getting to the rim and can also knock down a jumper 15ft and out. New Albany has a great young core and Johnson is one of them.

When it comes to the in-state 2028 class, a name that continues to look more and more as player that is going to be one of the top guards in that class is Kyron Johnson Kyron Johnson IN . Got another chance to see Johnson for Era Elite 2028 and was once again impressed with his playmaking ability. He knows how to control the pace of a game and can make plays with his scoring and facilitating. A good feel for the game.
