Kyler's 2028 Under-The-Radar Prospects That Impressed This Summer

The AAU season has all but officially wrapped up as we wind down from what has been an exciting last few months of basketball. From April to July, our prospects from the state of Indiana have put in a lot of work playing in a host of different events in multiple locations throughout the country. Our Prep Hoops Indiana Team has gotten eyes on nearly every prospect in the state and have been able to evaluate them. Going back and looking through my notes on the players I have seen, I thought this would be a good time to talk about 10 under-the-radar prospects that stood out to me. Here are the next five players. His twin brother [player_tooltip player_id='2538870' first='Don' last='Bowling III'] may get most of the attention on the floor, but [player_tooltip player_id='2538885' first='Ray' last='Bowling'] has had a real solid summer as well. More of an on-ball type of player than his brother, Ray is a true playmaking guard with a high IQ. He showed his ability to run an offense back in June when I watch him and Anderson play. One of my favorite under-the-radar guards I always look forward to seeing is [player_tooltip player_id='2823963' first='Kyron' last='Johnson']. This was the first time I got a chance to watch him since he transferred from New Albany to Charlestown. Watching him in early June, Johnson showed that he has added a little bit of size while style being an elite guard on the ball. Player that excels in the lane with a quick first step. One of the more interesting big man prospects in the 2029 class I got to see for the first time over the past few months was Gabriel Loane. Watching him for [program_tooltip program_id='2076924' first='EG10' last=''], he right away stands out with his size and intriguing skill. He makes really strong plays around the basket with good footwork and enough versatility to step out and shoot it. A forward down in southern Indiana with a lot of upside is [player_tooltip player_id='2477290' first='Blake' last='Gunter'] of South Ripley HS. Getting a chance to watch him over the past few months, really impressed with his size and overall high motor. He is a true rim runner and plays with fluid athletic ability. [program_tooltip program_id='2559412' first='Marlin' last='Academy'] produced a lot of talented players that fall under-the-radar and one of the guys I got to see from them is guard [player_tooltip player_id='2560369' first='Grayson' last='Alvey']. He is super underrated as playmaker on the ball and just a versatile scorer with a high IQ. He should step up in a big way for Center Grove this season.
