We're less than a month out from the Expo at Gold Crown on Sunday, September 13th. This is your chance to test yourself against 2026 & 2027 talent from across the state as we all head out under one roof. I will be on-site to evaluate how your game translates in a showcase setting and get an early read heading into the season. Rankings will be updated shortly after, using this as a key baseline.

Darnell is a 6'3 forward for the Rangers who got his feet wet as a sophomore, one of the very few underclassmen that got some time, and it's time to see if that time was valuable with a summer to prepare for the upcoming season and what's to come in an important year for him. He has the size and skill to carve out some minutes this upcoming season. He runs the floor well and finishes, controls the paint on both sides of the floor, and is a low-maintenance player who makes the most out of the time that he's on the court. Now it needs to translate if he wants to get more varsity minutes. We want to see him at the showcase to get more eyes and attention on him!

Hastedt is a high IQ guard that got to get some minutes as a sophomore and now steps into an important junior season where he will be asked to do a ton more. He has to be ready for the pressure that opposing teams will give Lutheran, take care of the ball, and still be able to get his own, as they will need some scoring from guards this season. He's a shifty PG that can score the ball, he competes on both ends of the floor, and runs the offense. As an under-the-radar player, this can be his opportunity to show that he's ready for all of that and more, and we want to see him get out and prove it.

Mindrup is a name that we were not familiar with heading into the summer, but after having a solid outing, we wanted to see a bit more of and hopefully he can get out to the event so that we can. Mindrup has good size as a 6'3 forward that brings you a bit of everything. He battles for boards with hard box outs, he sets hard screens and rolls, and he also can pass on the catch for an open shooter. Mindrup's balanced game will allow him to be a weapon for Lewis-Palmer this upcoming year, but we also want to see him amongst his peers in a setting where he can be himself. We'd surely like to get him out there to compete.

McCubbin is a small baller that plays above his size. He took the summer off to get his jumper right, do some skill work and has been competing against and working with older prospects and now we want him to come out and show us his progression. From what we've seen from him he's a crafty guard with high upside that finds angles against bigger defenders, shoots it well, delivers sharp entry passes and pays attention to the small details. After a summer of grinding, it's time to showcase all of his progress and the expo is a fun place to put it on display as we're eager to see the results!

Fields is a pass-first guard that can be a bit more of an offensive weapon for Horizon this upcoming season if he chooses. With the size that Horizon has, Fields should have plenty of scoring lanes and opportunities to become more of known commodity around the state. He's a tough player who defends well, pushes the tempo offensively and also can knock down the open 3. He's a smooth and crafty lefty that gets to where he wants on the floor and gets into the paint and also is a great distributor. A big showing at the showcase can skyrocket his stock as I believe Horizon will be a team to watch this year with the players around him.
