Is finishing up his career as part of the new direction Sapulpa is taking with their new head coach, Chris Wallace. Was cooking to finish up his UA Rise run with I4. Made the defenders pay by hitting pull up threes when the sagged off. Shooting has always been an important part of Newton's game. Impressively he had some great takes off the dribble. Finishing through contact and carving up the defense off the bounce. With long arms and tenacity, he plays bigger than his size around the basket. Even willing to take charges (how often do you see that in highlight videos?). An important development to his game has been improving shooting in the mid-range and from three. Which also allows him to attack mistmatches when taller players step out to cover him. Truly looked like a big guard with some of the dribble moves and head fakes. Switches gears very well for his size and had some fantastic finishes at the rim. With his wingspan, speed and jumping ability, thrives as a highlight reel player in the up tempo nature of AAU.
