On July 5th I attended the Attitude of Gratitude Summer Tip-Off located at the phhacility in Phx.

I watched over 10 teams play from 10:00am-6:00pm with 17 and 16U teams.

Here were some of the 2026 Guard Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='1876346' first='Sebastian' last='Vargas'] Eduprize (Peak UAA Rise) (Pictured)

An all-around scoring guard does a little bit of everything for his team. He shoots it from the perimeter, defends multiple positions inside and out and rebounds the ball. He plays the passing lanes really well which usually lead to steals and he had multiple dunks on the break, one was a nasty poster dunk.

[player_tooltip player_id='2423151' first='Ehikue' last='Asemota'] Dream City Christian (Peak UAA Rise)

A defensive scoring guard will score with catch threes with a quick trigger. He will drive the lane and find a teammate last second for the assist. He will give a hard jab step and do a quick pull-up off the dribble from mid-range.

[player_tooltip player_id='2896092' first='Diego' last='Lopez'] Douglas (Tucson Spartans)

A newcomer for me is a pure shooter off the catch from the three point line. He has decent size and uses it to also get inside the paint with and-1's as he takes contact well. He plays the game with confidence and he is one of the better players in his region.

[player_tooltip player_id='1445956' first='Fresh' last='Carter'] Bella Vista Prep (Hoop Code)

A scoring guard who will make smart reads and move the ball. He will drive and the lane and score it in transition. He is getting more athletic and will dunk it on the break. He is aggressive to the basket with a scorer's DNA and has a nice shooting stroke.

[player_tooltip player_id='2623495' first='Riley' last='Haggerty'] Cactus Shadows (Hoop Code)

A combo guard who is a lefty shooter. He can work inside a little with good hands and footwork. He smartly cuts off the ball and he can hit the three off the catch or earn trips to the free throw line.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432454' first='Sekou' last='Sackor'] Centennial (AZ Select James)

A hyper athletic combo guard can score it with alley-oop dunks and transition dunks way above the rim. He is a ball hawk on defense to collect steals and will even block shots. He is very quick to the basket and will score with offensive rebound put backs using his bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id='1571923' first='Koreon' last='Head-Holbrook'] Ironwood (Legacy)

A shooting guard is a physical driver and he is a tough defender. He covers a lot of ground on defense and will close out quickly to shooters. He loves getting downhill and will absorb the contact and score thru it or get to the FT line.

[player_tooltip player_id='2275986' first='KJ' last='Fauske'] Seton Catholic (AZ Select UAA)

One of the purest strokes in the class from the three point line. When his feet are set and he has a glimpse of space, he is knocking down the shot from the three. He can also pull-up from mid-range and get to the basket.
