We are hard at work here in the month of June covering weekly high school leagues, team camps, shootouts, and much more. However, even during all of the busy scholastic competition going on this month, we also wanted to find time to update our prospect rankings. This week features our updated and expanded Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings. We are up to 100 ranked prospects and over 450 total rising junior prospects in the database as a whole after adding about 60 new names this update. As always, we will spend the whole week diving deeper in the rankings. Let's begin here by highlight a handful of the prospects who improved their ranking the most from the last March update.

We at Prep Hoops Indiana watched Combs play late in the high school season, have seen him play with Midwest Basketball Club, and just saw him play with Bloomington South at IU Team Camp last weekend. The 6'5" forward continues to get better and better. Also a star quarterback for the Panthers, Combs has all of the requisite strength and athleticism for the next level. He is physical around the basket, moves incredibly well which makes him a matchup problem at the "4", and is skilled enough to make plays from the perimeter as well. Combs rebounds at a high-level despite not being the tallest at his position. His continued strong play has catapulted him up in the rankings from #52 to #30.

This 5'8"-5'9" guard from Crispus Attucks High School burst onto the scene as a sophomore earning himself a significant varsity role and averaging 5.7 points per game. Now he is set to be one of the featured pieces of a team that is no stranger to success. He looked good leading the Tigers at IU Team Camp over the weekend and, despite his small stature, is proving himself as one of the top rising junior guards in the Indianapolis area. Coaches often spend a lot of time talking themselves out of recruiting small guards only to have those players haunt them down the road. Jones is that type of player. You would rather have this guy with you than you against you. He jumped 10 more spots in this rankings update from #69 to #59.

Muntel has been a prospect that we've been tracking for some time now out of Westfield High School. The 6'6" forward was the perfect "watch list" player up until this point as he continued to develop his skill level and grow a little bit more comfortable in his long, athletic, 6'6" frame. Now, as we expanded to a Top 100 ranking, he made his debut at #77 in the Class of 2027. Muntel is having a good start to the month with Westfield showcasing his interior finishing ability that comes with his footwork and positional quickness. Given how he has developed over the last year it is very possible that we see him as a stock-riser once again at some point before he graduates.

One of the more rapidly improve guards in the rising junior class, we are starting to see Nover really breakout heading into the summer. It can be tough to evaluate young prospects at Carmel High School because it is so rare to break into the varsity rotation prior to your junior season due to their consistent stable of talent. Nover has came up through the Greyhounds system now, shined on the grassroots circuit over the last couple of months, and has carved out a role with Carmel so far in their June competition. He handles the ball very well for his size showing the ability to, at the very least, serve as a secondary playmaker, while also flashing some shooting ability from beyond the arc. Nover's length and athleticism on the perimeter are very intriguing as well as you project him out over the next couple of years. He has jumped up off of the watch list into the Top 50 at #46 overall.

Reed had a strong freshman season, but then really broke out as a sophomore averaging 16.4 points per game for Floyd Central proving himself as one of the top scorers in all of southern Indiana. The 6'3" left-handed guard also connected on 64 three-point shots during the high school season. That smooth shooting ability has translated through the spring with [program_tooltip program_id='2400093' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Tradition'] and has earned him his first scholarship offer from Marian. What Reed brings to the table with positional size, length, and shot-making will continue to make him an attractive prospect at the next level. He jumped from #46 to #32 in this rankings update.

You can't teach the combination of size, length, athleticism, and ball skill that this guard possesses on the perimeter. Renn came on strong as a sophomore for a very good Terre Haute North team and then has continued to make noise through the spring with [program_tooltip program_id='2076166' first='Grand' last='Park Premier'] 16u. When he gets downhill to the basket it is really hard to contain his length and fluid athleticism. Renn handles the ball well enough to serve as a secondary playmaker and is a really tough matchup for his peers on the perimeter. It has been a pretty quick rise up the rankings for Renn with this latest jump taking him from #51 to #29 overall in the Class of 2027.

This rising junior big man just keeps getting better and better. He probably has been labeled a stock-riser before during our rankings updates, but he has earned that honor once again moving from #36 to #24. Vise runs the floor incredibly well at 6'8", continues to get stronger, and is developing into a very effective rebounder and shot-blocker. His offense game includes finishing on the roll and rim run, out of the dunker's spot, and the occasional face-up, mid-range jump shot. However, what continues to shoot him up the rankings is the fluid athleticism he showcases at 6'8". The Mt. Vernon (Fortville) big man is well deserving of his new Top 25 ranking.

College coaches always end up circling back at some point late in the recruiting process in search of size. Therefore, identifying young big men is always in vogue to give those coaches prospects to recruit on the front end. For guys like Williams, a 6'8" center from Fort Wayne Wayne High School, that allows them to shoot up the rankings in a hurry. This strong, athletic big man jumped from the watch list to #69 over in the Class of 2027 after a very strong showing on the UA Rise Circuit with his [program_tooltip program_id='2228160' first='OPS' last=''] squad. He is a physical finisher at the rim, rebounds everything, and flashes upside as an interior defensive stopper. There is a lot to like about his game and his long-term potential. Look for Williams to have a breakout junior season for the Generals.
