Bloomington South is going to be a sneaky problem and the main reason for that is because of their main guy, 2027 forward Duncan CombsDuncanCombs

. He may be a football prospect long term, but Combs is just a load to handle on the basketball floor, as well. He plays with such great body control and pace at his size and position and knows how to use his stronger frame to score through contact. Smooth power forward that can be very physical 15ft and in.
Schedule: (Friday): vs Noblesville 10 AM, Blackford 12:20 PM — (Saturday) vs Oak Hill 11:20 AM, Westview 1:45 PM
Offers: Marian (Football)
Highly-touted football prospect but can get it done on the basketball floor, versatile, smooth mid-range jumper, high motor, strong, excellent footwork, athletic, will be Bloomington South’s best player, NAIA schools need to offer for basketball
Scouting Notes: A real versatile power forward that can score very well in multiple areas of the floor. Smooth mid-range game and solid footwork around the basket. True athlete that can be a difference maker at times.
A junior that you need to start keeping an eye on the rest of the season and into his senior year is Bloomington South’s power forward Duncan CombsDuncanCombs

. A multi-sport athlete, Combs is one of the best power forward in all the state and just has an ability to take over a game for the Panthers. With great size at 6’5, Combs also has some real nice skill when it comes to the midrange and around the basket. You can watch him when Columbus North opens up Sectional play vs Martinsville.

might have been the one I came away most impressed with. To put things pretty simple, Combs is a very skilled stretch four that has such a smooth and consistent mid-range game. With Bloomington South being a team that likes to work the ball, Combs often gets the final touch where he often finds a scoring angle. He also showed some upside on the defensive end with his multiple blocks he had against Southport on Thursday night. A player to keep an eye on in the southern Indiana area.

Combs rebounds everything in his area and is a very high-percentage finisher around the basket. He has great footwork in the post and is a skilled mid-range operator as well. The 6’5″ junior forward dominated the interior on Monday night finishing with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds as Bloomington South beat Bloomington North 50-43.

The first few possessions of Bloomington South’s contest with Centerville showcased Combs’ skill level perfectly. He scored on three progressively more difficult turnaround jump shots in the mid-post to get the Panthers going. The 6’5″ junior forward went on to lead the way with 18 points and 5 assists in a 67-49 win over Centerville. Combs’ skill level as a scoring 4-man is very impressive.

Also the quarterback for the Panthers football team, Combs is a good prospect on the hardwood as well. The 6’5″ forward has a strong build and excellent footwork around the basket. He operates in the mid-post, can face-up out to the perimeter and drive it against closeouts, and rebounds at a high level. Combs finished just shy of a double-double with 11 points and 9 rebounds. It will be interesting to see how his basketball recruitment shapes up compared to the opportunities he wil have as a football prospect.

We at Prep Hoops Indiana watched Combs play late in the high school season, have seen him play with Midwest Basketball Club, and just saw him play with Bloomington South at IU Team Camp last weekend. The 6’5″ forward continues to get better and better. Also a star quarterback for the Panthers, Combs has all of the requisite strength and athleticism for the next level. He is physical around the basket, moves incredibly well which makes him a matchup problem at the “4”, and is skilled enough to make plays from the perimeter as well. Combs rebounds at a high-level despite not being the tallest at his position. His continued strong play has catapulted him up in the rankings from #52 to #30.

is a 6-foot-5 power forward that has the physical and athletic tools to compete at a high level. He is running with Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB and has been making an impact with them this spring. He is more comfortable as an inside threat right now but there is potential in him to stretch his game out over the next couple of seasons.
