I spent the weekend in Hamilton, Ohio for Midwest Mania which was hosted at the Spooky Nook complex in Cincinnati. In this article I'll break down the Ohio 17 U standouts I was able to catch.

[program_tooltip program_id='2320052' first='All' last='Ohio Red'] had some battles with other shoe circuit teams and Miles was productive as a strong wing who is very productive in the paint. Miles has a unique blend of strength and vertical pop that makes him difficult to stop when he gets a head of steam going to the paint. I'm hoping to see consistent motor and production during live period events for Miles who has a wide-open recruitment at the moment.

Midwest Cincy MHC got a signature victory over Indy Heat EYBL on Sunday but I caught a full game on Saturday where Wiley made a big impact on both ends of the court. Defensively is where I wanted to see Wiley shine and he certainly made an impact with his versatility on that end thanks to his athleticism. As a driver Wiley was finishing with either hand and playing above the rim. I thought all three Wyoming players on Midwest MHC had impressive moments this weekend as [player_tooltip player_id='1925832' first='Darren' last='Gray'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2366692' first='Carlyle' last='Billingsley'] impacted the game as well.

[program_tooltip program_id='2075761' first='Ohio' last='Buckets'] Black straight up dominated their competition and I caught them in a blowout victory where Priddy was dominant. An elite shooter, Priddy has soft touch from the outside and shoots a pretty ball. Defensively, Priddy used his active hands to strip ball handlers and jump passing lanes that helped start fast breaks that usually resulted in easy buckets for his team. After an impressive postseason run to the regional final and continuing his positive momentum during the spring grassroots season, Priddy will be a stock riser in our next rankings update for the class of 2026.

One of the more competitive games I saw all weekend was Midwest Pumas Benson Vs Love 4 The Game as that was one of two overtime games I was at all weekend. Rucker was a standout in that contest as he did a nice job of attacking closeouts and using his strength to finish at the basket. I always like players who excel at multiple sports and Rucker has a strong frame developed from playing quarterback that allows him to take contact and still finish at the basket, Rucker had a couple lefty finishes at the rim that were tough plays to make. Rucker is also a knockdown shooter with his feet set and hit some impressive shots from downtown as both he and [player_tooltip player_id='2201930' first='Cooper' last='Stoneking'] caught fire in the second half. I thought Midwest Pumas Benson had a handful of small college targets and are a team college coaches should be checking out as the grassroots season continues.

A new addition to the [program_tooltip program_id='2075761' first='Ohio' last='Buckets'] 17 U squad, Addy has provided nice support as a two-way point guard who applies excellent on-ball defense. His quick feet and hands can help force turnovers and on the offensive end of the court Addy was beating defenders off the dribble and either scoring in the paint or kicking it out to a 3-point shooter. With a bunch of Division I talent on the roster, Addy just needs to defend and set the table for scorers, and he can do that at a high level and continue to have a positive impact with this group.

Midwest MHC played some of the top competition at the event this weekend and battled against [program_tooltip program_id='2075761' first='Ohio' last='Buckets'] for the entirety of the game. I've seen Henry multiple times for Upper Arlington and last season with Midwest Basketball Club and I think Saturday night was his best performance I've seen. Henry was shooting the ball with confidence by relocating to get himself open and using his soft touch to get a friendly roll as well. Henry also had multiple lefty finishes against rim protectors and played hard on both ends of the court. Hoping to see Henry build on this performance for the rest of the grassroots season.
