Wiley set the Wyoming all-time scoring record with a first quarter layup and that was the opening for a historic night for Wiley as not only does he become the all-time scorer for the Cowboys but he also wins the state title in his final game in a Cowboy uniform. A tremendous game by Wiley as he finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. A powerful dunk in the fourth quarter to put the Cowboys up thirty points sent the Wyoming faithful to their feet. All of Wiley’s offensive production doesn’t even show the incredible impact he had as a defensive player in this one, flying around the court and causing havoc in the zone defense Wyoming used.

The heartbeat of the unbeaten Wyoming Cowboys, Wiley had a big game doing what he does best. Wiley is going to attack the rim aggressively and is tough to stop once he gets a step on his defender. Wiley also had a sweet dunk off a backdoor screen play that was wide open. Defensively is another area where Wiley thrives and will help him see the floor early at the college level with his future head coach in attendance on Sunday.

Wyoming continues to roll thanks to the stellar play of their senior quartet. Wiley led the way on Saturday afternoon with 22 points on 9/12 shooting from the floor. Wiley hit back-to-back 3-pointers in the second half, which is a major swing skill for him at the next level. Wiley also did a nice job attacking with his left hand before using his right hand to scoop for a layup in traffic. Throwing down a breakaway slam dunk, Wiley is lightning fast from one end of the court to the other. I really enjoy watching Wyoming play as they look laser focused on winning a state title.

Wyoming made one of the statements of the weekend with a dominant win over Summit Country Day. Wiley had an excellent effort on both ends of the court with an early give and go finish. Wiley had multiple tough left-handed finishes at the rim with one coming right after a tough offensive rebound. Add in a tough mid-range pull-up jumper and a breakaway dunk off a steal and Wiley was flying around the court and making a strong impact for a Wyoming team that has state title expectations this season.

One of the most notable prospects at the event, Wiley did a nice job of not forcing the issue on Friday evening. Wiley was one of the few players making cuts off the ball and he scored a few times just thanks to his effort moving without the ball and running the floor. Wiley is lightning quick going right to left or left to right with the crossover and also is one of the premier perimeter defenders in Ohio.

One of the most athletic players I saw all day, Wiley was getting after it at the defensive end of the court. With the quickness and frame to bother opposing ball handlers, Wiley most importantly enjoys defending and makes it his mission to prevent the man across from him from making plays offensively. Wyoming had a couple tough early losses and were missing some pieces including

Wiley is a downhill Tasmanian devil guard who likes to get paint touches. He fills the lane well in transition when he is playing off the ball. Wiley can play the two man game and can move the ball around to his teammates. He made a few trips to the foul line. Wiley has quick reaction time and can cover ground quickly on defense. He will see a ton of traction from scholarship programs.

Wiley plays the game like his hair is on fire. He plays with an insane amount of energy and motor. He dove on the floor multiple times for loose balls. The intensity and energy he uses on the defensive end are impressive and something that you can’t help but love. He defends the perimeter so hard. On offense, he knows how to score when he needs to. Gets to the rim well. If you had a team that played with the same mentality and effort as Wiley, you would win a lot of games.

Midwest Cincy MHC got a signature victory over Indy Heat EYBL on Sunday but I caught a full game on Saturday where Wiley made a big impact on both ends of the court. Defensively is where I wanted to see Wiley shine and he certainly made an impact with his versatility on that end thanks to his athleticism. As a driver Wiley was finishing with either hand and playing above the rim. I thought all three Wyoming players on Midwest MHC had impressive moments this weekend as

Wiley is a new addition to Wildcat Select and kept his game simple playing in the back-court next to two high major pieces. Wiley attacked with confidence off the bounce, making decisive moves to the rim without needing to be flashy. Getting out and running in transition got him a couple breakaway layups as the defense tried to chase him down from behind. If Wiley can continue to play with confidence and not let the ball stick to his hands, he could craft out a nice bench role on one of the more talented 16 U groups on the 3SSB circuit.
