Midwest Mania brought out hundreds of teams to Hamilton, Ohio and I was able to catch a ton of prospects from Ohio and Kentucky this weekend. In this article I'll break down four standout Kentucky performers at the 16 U age group.

A big time athlete, Butler is a high-flying forward who used his athleticism and high energy to score in the paint and grab offensive rebounds. I thought Butler did a nice job of making himself available in the dunker spot to score above the rim and also was opportunistic with layups in transition. Lots of upside long term with Butler who is starting to turn the corner as a prospect and is set for a massive rankings spike during the next update.

I thought Roberts was active on both ends of the floor and continually in the mix. Whether it was loose balls, guarding the opposing teams ball handlers or running out in transition, Roberts was making stuff happen consistently. With his blazing speed Roberts can get from one end of the court to the other in a flash. The next step in his game will be slowing down and being patient in the half-court but the natural ability Roberts shows is why he's one of the top ranked point guards in Kentucky's 2027 class.

A wing guard who can really shoot the ball from the outside, Swartz has a smooth looking jumper who you need to get a hand up when he catches the ball with his feet set. Able to attack closeouts with either hand, Swartz had a sweet righty scoop layup where he attacked using his left hand on the dribble drive. I thought Swartz showed good feel as an off-ball scorer and should be able to make a big impact on varsity as a junior after he appeared in over half of Great Crossing's games as a Sophomore.

Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB 16 U had some standout performances including Logsdon and [player_tooltip player_id='1745595' first='Michael' last='Ray Stinnett'] who hit four 3-pointers in the win over All Ohio Red. I decided to spotlight Logsdon who showed more of an interior scoring ability than I saw on the EYBL circuit last year. Confident finishing with his left hand and challenging rim protectors, Logsdon has improved his athleticism and his off-hand in the past year. I also thought Logsdon didn't force the issue and is fitting in well with a new group that was missing some pieces but still found a way to finish 2-1 against a really tough schedule that featured two EYBL opponents and an EYCL squad.
