A versatile forward who is a true X factor in the 6th region title race next season, Jarel has a high ceiling. Butler has been focused on his football career and will not be playing July AAU but I think he can be a solid prospect at the D2 or NAIA level if his D1 football dreams don’t come true.

A big QB, Butler has been on visits to Louisville football and has drawn early interest as an athletic forward on the basketball court. Also a good track athlete, Jarel has given up AAU basketball to focus on the track season.

Butler finished his breakout season with a bang, putting up a team-high in points (17) and tying for a game-high in rebounds (6) in Fairdale’s quarterfinal matchup. Expect Butler to be one of the top returners for the Bulldogs next season.

The host Louisville Fairdale got a big time victory to wrap up the opening night of action as they had six players score eight points or more in the victory. Butler was an athletic mismatch in the paint, making some impressive finishes at the rim by using his length and explosiveness. Butler rolled hard to the rim off screens, ran the floor and had a nice spin move that led to an easy finish at the rim. Combine that impact with a game-high 11 rebounds and Butler was an easy choice for top performer from the hosts.

Jarel is a raw talent but has the physical traits that allow him to do a lot of special things on the court. He’s a D1 recruit as a quarterback but also has that type of potential on the court. An explosive athlete, Butler could be the X Factor for Fairdale in the regional title race.

An athletic forward who can score off the bounce or spotting up from three, Jarel is a late bloomer who has come a long way in a short time on the basketball court. One of the biggest movers in this update, Butler is a mismatch problem for bigger posts because he has a quick first step and can take smaller players to the block.

Making a big move up from 177th to 26th overall, Butler had a monster spring of AAU, leading all of the UA Rise in scoring in the May live period and averaging a double double. An explosive athlete, Jarel could have a future on the court or on the football field. He’s a big time leaper with a great frame who should continue improving, long term.

Butler is a tall and athletic wing forward who plays hard and continues to improve. Standing 6’6 and very athletic, Jarel is a late bloomer who continues to grow and is also adding to his skill set as time goes along. A good rebounder who also offers some rim protection, Butler is a player who will make a big move in our next rankings update and could end up getting some college interest before the AAU season ends.

A big time athlete, Butler is a high-flying forward who used his athleticism and high energy to score in the paint and grab offensive rebounds. I thought Butler did a nice job of making himself available in the dunker spot to score above the rim and also was opportunistic with layups in transition. Lots of upside long term with Butler who is starting to turn the corner as a prospect and is set for a massive rankings spike during the next update.
