generates scoring chances with his quick burst and athletic ability, showing the skill to turn the corner on drives and get himself into comfortable midrange spots. He moves with purpose both on and off the ball, staying active and finding ways to stay involved in the offense. He finishes well at the rim, uses a steady pull-up game from midrange, and competes on the boards even as a guard. In transition he is especially dangerous, using his athleticism to attack quickly and put pressure on defenses, and he can catch fire in a hurry as a scorer who is comfortable producing from multiple levels of the floor.

I really liked Slone’s energy throughout the game, making some tough shots in the fourth quarter to keep his team in the game. Slone is the most talented athlete on his team and used his quick twitch athleticism to turn the corner on drives and get to his spots in the mid-range. Major respect to Slone for competing till the final buzzer, showing the type of competitor he is. I wouldn’t be surprised if Slone and Johnson Central make a run next year at the state tournament.

Slone can move so well with or without the ball in his hands. He is as dangerous finisher around the basket. He has a knockdown mid-range jump shot. With Austin’s size, he isn’t afraid to crash the boards either. He is currently averaging 21.2 PPG and 7.1 RPG.

A really good athlete who can score in waves, Slone is primarily a slasher who excels at getting to the rim. One of the top scorers in the region last season, Austin is deadly in the open floor. More of a natural two guard, Slone plays with the ball in his hands on offense quite a bit for JC and is starting to come into his own as a playmaker.

After a Sophomore season where he averaged 25 points and 8 rebounds, Slone has a chance to get on the AAU circuit and impress the college coaches who don’t often make their way to Johnson Central. Austin is a very athletic guard who put up shooting splits of 55/30/76 on his way to being one of the top players in the region. If he can replicate some of that production this summer, he’ll be in the mix for a big move up the rankings.

Slone has hovered anywhere from top 15 to top 25 since these rankings were created but he’s due to move back up after a really good Sophomore season where he shot 55% from the field while averaging over 24 points per game in a rebuilding season for Johnson Central. Depending on how his summer goes, we could be talking about Austin as a potential D1 prospect by the time his Junior season starts.

is an elite scorer and should be amongst the top 5 kids in the class. If he continues to play at a high level the rest of the AAU season, Slone could be in the conversation to crack the top ten.

Slone was one of our top movers in this ranking and could not be done moving up. Johnson Central has always had players that can score in bunches. Austin is averaging 26 points in his freshman season with 53-38-75 shooting splits and adding 7 rebounds per game. I look forward to seeing how he does this AAU season.

Slone is one of the top scorers in the state this season and recently impressed with a 36 point game against GRC. Austin climbs from 32nd to 18th in this update and could still be one of the more under-ranked prospects in the state at this point. He’s averaging 26 points and 7 rebounds per game and is already a top player in the 15th region.

Slone is one of the best 2027s in the mountains. After averaging just under 17 points per game as an 8th grader, Austin will likely be over 20 per game as a freshman. Slone is already a fairly efficient scorer at this point and will see his numbers go up as he gets stronger and becomes a better finisher at the rim.
