“Red” is overshadowed at times by the firepower on the Fairdale roster but he’s using this spring to break out and establish his own name. Coming out of the weekend, Roberts showed he can score the ball against anyone and made shots at a high level. Fairdale is a serious threat to win the region next season.

Roberts was a role player for Fairdale this past season but has had a breakout AAU spring so far. Red has scored as many as 35 in games over the last month and should have an opportunity to shine on the UAA stage this weekend.

Kamarion, known by many as “Red,” played a valuable role for a good Fairdale squad during his sophomore campaign. With his brother commanding the ship, Red played off the ball more often than not and proved to be reliable when knocking down shots from distance. He has shown potential to be a legit threat as a facilitator and a crafty playmaker. His production should increase and he plays a more significant role moving forward.

An undersized point guard, Roberts has a lot of wiggle as a driver as he can use crossovers and dribble moves to beat his defender off the bounce. An acrobatic finisher at the rim, Roberts can hang and hit tough shots off different angles off the glass. I was impressed by the juice Roberts has with the ball in his hands and if he can be more efficient from the field he could easily develop into one of the tougher lead guards to defend in the Louisville area.

Roberts is quick and shifty with the ball in his hands and has a solid jumpshot with a quick release. “Lil Red” may not see a ton of playing time at Fairdale as a freshman but he’s got a chance to carve himself out a decent role.
