Two weeks ago the IHSAA State Tournament started with over 400 teams across four classes competing for a coveted trip to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. We crowned 64 Sectional champions and then, on Saturday, cut the field in half with 32 Regional champions. Now, those teams will compete in the Semi-State round with two games on Saturday, March 22nd ultimately dwindling the field down to two teams per class. Let's preview the four games in Class 3A.

South Bend St. Joesph vs Maconaquah (Logansport)

When you look at Class 3A, each game just feels pretty loaded and one of those games takes place at Logansport between South Bend St. Joesph and Maconaquah. South Bend St. Joesph has been on a mission this season to put themselves in a spot to make it back to Indianapolis and redeem themselves from falling short a season ago in the Class 3A State Championship. Standing in there way is at least 2 more games and up first, they face a Maconaaquah team led by one of the best scorers in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='1747066' first='Josiah' last='Ball']. The Braves have had to grind their last two games out to get to this point and if they want to get past the Huskies, Ball will need to be at his peak self while also getting help from teammates such as AJ Kelly and Devon Murry. Regardless, getting past a group that consists of [player_tooltip player_id='1297002' first='Chase' last='Konieczny'], [player_tooltip player_id='2024513' first='Nick' last='Shrewsberry'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560973' first='Ethan' last='Roseman'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2140359' first='Elijah' last='King'] is difficult no matter who you are. The Prediction: South Bend St. Joesph

Delta vs East Chicago Central (Logansport)

For the 3rd time in a row, the Delta Eagles are back at semi-state which begs the question: Is the third time the charm? Delta has fallen short the last two years when they make it to semi-state and are looking to finally get over that very large hump. Like it has been the last two seasons, it is not going to be easy and this time, they are going to have to go through an East Chicago Central team that has just steamrolled over every team that has come across their past this post season. ECC has arguably the best backcourt left in Class 3A with [player_tooltip player_id='1297020' first='Dominique' last='Murphy Jr'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2390221' first='Yamauree' last='Wallace'], who both combined average over 33 points per game. Delta is a balance team that is led by [player_tooltip player_id='1539482' first='Jordan' last='Furney'] and Bronson Edwards, both seniors that have been great all season long. This will be a fun matchup. The Prediction: East Chicago Central

New Palestine vs Brownstown Central (Southport)

For a team that many thought would take a step back this season losing a Indiana all-star and jumping up a class, the Brownstown Central Braves have been just as dominant as they have been the last few years. The reigning Class 2A State Champs are looking to do something that is rarely seen, win back-to-back state championships while doing it in two different classes. They do run into their toughest challenge yet this postseason going up against a New Palestine team led by Indiana Wesleyan signee [player_tooltip player_id='1297068' first='Julius' last='Gizzi'], who has been one of the top scorers in the state this season. The Brownstown Central duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1297005' first='Colby' last='Hall'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1296999' first='Chace' last='Coomer'] are still looking to prove they can win the big one on their own and getting through a Gizzi led New Palestine team gets them one step closer. The Prediction: Brownstown Central

Princeton vs Crispus Attucks (Southport)

We round off our Class 3A Semi-state preview by looking at a very interesting matchup between Princeton and Crispus Attucks at Southport. Both of these teams have been near the top of Class 3A all season long and it comes to no shock that they are here up to this point. The main matchup here will be how Princeton matches up against Iowa commit and senior power forward [player_tooltip player_id='1297019' first='Dezmon' last='Briscoe'], among other players like [player_tooltip player_id='1297004' first='Chris' last='Hurt']. Princeton does provide a nice trio to go up against Attucks in [player_tooltip player_id='1560964' first='Edwin' last='Holmes'], [player_tooltip player_id='1297040' first='Jace' last='Jenkins'], and [player_tooltip player_id='2819533' first='Jaylin' last='Price']. Both these teams have won a lot of games this season but unfortunately, one of these teams goes home for the season. The Prediction: Crispus Attucks
