This event has become an annual stop on our holiday tournament tour. The sixth annual Phil Cox Memorial Holiday Tournament took place on Monday and Tuesday with Prep Hoops Indiana having boots on the ground coverage of the seventh place, fifth place, third place, and championship games on Tuesday evening. Those four matchups allowed us to see all eight teams in the field. Here are our top individual performers from those games.

New Haven won the Phil Cox Memorial Holiday Tournament fifth place game by the score of 58-48 over Bishop Chatard. Baskerville, a 6'2" junior guard, led New Haven in scoring with 18 points. His combination of physicality, athleticism, and skill makes him a very difficult matchup on the perimeter.

There was no stopping Fresh from leading Charlestown on a comeback against Merrillville in Tuesday's seventh place game. The Miami (OH) signee got off to a slow start, as did his team, as Charlestown fell behind 17-4 after the first quarter. However, Fresh would go on to pour in 36 points to help defeat Merrillville 62-55. It was an outstanding individual performance by one of the most talented pure scorers in the state.

An admittedly unexpected star of Tuesday night's championship game, Gorball stepped up in a major way for Northridge. South Bend Riley was doing a great job of making it hard on Scholl and were hounding Johnson on the perimeter. However, as is the case with really good teams, someone else stepped up and this time it was junior wing Hayden Gorball. He scored 8 of his team-leading 14 points in the fourth quarter to help secure the Phil Cox Memorial Holiday Tournament Championship for Northridge with a 45-38 win over previously undefeated South Bend Riley.

One of the state's best scorers in the sophomore class, Hardiman led Merrillville in scoring once again on Tuesday afternoon with 18 points in a tough 62-55 loss to Charlestown. It was a tough trip to the Phil Cox Memorial Holiday Tournament for the Pirates, but Hardiman continues to prove himself as one of the top prospects in Indiana's Class of 2028.

This SIU-Edwardsville signee began the tournament by eclipsing the 1,000 career-point milestone and ended it with a double-double to help lead Lawrence North to a third place finish. The Wildcats defeated host Kokomo 53-42 on Tuesday night. Miller, a 6'6" senior forward, finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 assists to lead Lawrence North.

Nash was a big part of Kokomo's strong first half, but was neutralized a bit in the second half by Lawrence North's zone defense. The athletic 6'3" wing still finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds, but the Wildkats lost 53-42. He has had an excellent sophomore season so far for Kokomo and remains one of the top prospects in Indiana's Class of 2028.

Scholl's championship game performance wasn't the one that will be remembered from the Phil Cox Memorial Holiday Tournament, but this top performers article wouldn't have felt complete without him. The Indiana Wesleyan signee broke the tournament single-game scoring record Monday with a 40-point performance in a win over Merrillville. He finished with 9 points and 9 rebounds in Tuesday night's championship game victory over previously unbeaten South Bend Riley. Northridge is now 9-1 on the season.

South Bend Riley struggled to find scoring opportunities against Northridge's zone defense on Tuesday night. They shot just 1-13 from three-point range in the first half, but gave themselves a chance to win in the second half with some better outside shooting. Webster was a bit part of that connecting on a total of four three-point shots on his way to a team-leading 14 points. However, Riley lost to Northridge 43-38.
