Norbu has been the go-to scorer for Prior Lake all season long, and in a pair of wins against Chanhassen and Minnetonka last week, that remained the case. In both games he led the team in scoring, combining for 42 points to lead his team to the section finals. Norbu has the ability to get to his spots off the dribble and connect on pull-up jumpers, but can also get his shots within the flow of the offense. He's a catch and shoot threat from three, cuts hard off the ball, and is tough to stop when he gets out into transition. One thing that sticks out is how intentional he is with his dribbles. When he gets the ball he knows where he wants to get, and if the lane isn't there he's going to keep the ball moving.

Cade put together an impressive performance on Saturday in a hard fought win over Minnetonka. Defensively the senior guard was bringing some intensity on the ball. His pressure and positioning was a big reason why Prior Lake was able to limit Minnetonka's scoring ability early in the second half, as he wasn't making anything easy for the Tonka guards. Offensively he showed some impressive body control as he converted on some tough looks at the rim, while also showcasing the vision to set his teammates up with good looks. Scored 16 points in the win over Minnetonka.

JJ was coming up with some big plays defensively to help lead Hopkins past a tough St. Louis Park team on Friday night. Physically he wasn't able to match up with the Curtis Twins (very few players in the state can), but his quick hands and timing allowed him to come up with steals/blocks in bunches. He was utilizing his long arms to contest around the rim, just getting a hand on the ball to either force a miss or jump-ball call. Time after time SLP was attacking him at the rim, and JJ was able to get a hand in and force a tie-up. Offensively he knocked down some tough mid-range shots, while also showing his touch around the rim to finish with 19 points. Ended the game with an impressive 5 steals and 4 blocks.

For an opposing team, it's never a good sign when an opponent's leading scorer gets a bucket right after the opening tip. Anthony scored just seconds into Friday night's game, and within just a few minutes had already racked up 12 points. SLP just didn't have a guy who could stick in front of the shifty guard, and with his ability to score from just about anywhere within the half-court line, defenders could not stop him from getting to his spots. He mixed in some deep threes, mid-range jumpers, and physical finishes around the basket to rack up 41 points in the win.

Over the past year I've seen Emmanuel play a handful of times in a variety of settings, and in likely his toughest test since then, Emmanuel performed at the highest level I've seen from him. He was rolling in the first half for Tartan, knocking down a couple of threes with confidence, leaking out in transition for a dunk, and showing soft touch around the rim to score 16 points in the first half. Few freshmen can match his physical attributes at around 6'4 with explosive athleticism, but his emerging skills on the ball have helped him become a strong contributor for one of the best teams in Class AAAA. He finished with 24 points in the win over East Ridge.

Colten is one of the state's best wide receivers in the fall, and this winter has looked the part of a college basketball prospect as well. Listed at 6'7, Colten is an explosive athlete who can make plays around the rim on both ends. Against Chanhassen he was dangerous out of the pick & roll, clearing out space for his guards and doing a great job of timing his roll to the basket. On two occasions that timing led to an explosive two handed dunk at the rim. He does a nice job of keeping the ball high in traffic, and has some muscle on his long frame that allows him to finish through contact. He scored 19 points against Chanhassen and then 11 in the win over Minnetonka.

Cedric was in some foul trouble in the first half, but came alive in the second as Tartan pulled away to beat East Ridge. He did a great job of getting downhill, establishing two feet in the paint, and from there locating his cutting teammates with accurate passes. Banks is the type of point guard you can just give the ball to at times and let him make plays on his own. His elite quickness allows him to get to just about anywhere he wants to on the floor, and from there he has the ability to score on his own or facilitate.
