Lankfard became the new all-time career scoring leader at St. Paul Central on Wednesday night, leading his team to a win over Como Park in the process. Last season's City Conference POTY is a physical guard who can simply bully opposing guards around the basket. His strong frame allows him to take his man off the dribble and just keep him pinned on his hip, or Allan can go into the paint off the ball and establish deep post position leading to some easy scores. Showed a smooth jumper from three as well, knocking down a shot from the corner to officially break the school record.

I really like the impact that Tavi made with his effort and intensity defensively when he checked into the game on Monday. He's typically the smallest guy on the floor, but is relentless pressuring the ball. Tavi get's right up under opposing ball handlers, and does a great job of fighting to get over screens and recovering back to his man. Also provides a scoring spark with his shooting touch from beyond the arc. He helped Johnson get off to a 1-0 start in conference play with a win over Highland Park.

Kenny had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds helping lead Johnson to a win over Highland Park. There were times where he was simply able to overpower defenders around the basket, and he did a nice job of finishing through contact when all defenders could do to try to stop him was foul. Really liked his fight without the ball to create angles that allowed his guards an easy way to get him the ball. There were a couple of times where he failed to box out and allowed smaller players to get a board in his area, but for the most part he does a nice job of using his size and strength to secure missed shots in traffic.

Sefi is having a breakout junior season for Central, giving them a dangerous trio of guards. Whereas Lankfard is able to get to the rim and bully defenders, Sefi is more of a floor stretcher with a smooth jumper from beyond the arc. Against Como Park on Wednesday he did a nice job of relocating off the ball, finding pockets of space to catch and shoot when one of his teammates penetrated. Hit 8 threes in a game earlier this season against a tough Byron team.

Eli is a smart and composed guard for Central, who can hurt you as a facilitator or a scorer. Against Como Park he did a nice job of beating his initial defender, and from there getting all the way to the rim, or locating an open teammate as a help defender stepped in. Eli can be relied upon to break a press as he knows when to go on his own, or when to throw the ball up the floor. Offers an additional three point shooting option as well.

Colin did a little bit of everything on Monday night for Johnson. His pace on the ball, combined with strong frame allowed him to beat his defender and get all the way to the rim for some strong finishes. Just seems to float out on the perimeter before picking his moment to attack. Colin does a great job of throwing the ball up the floor to give his team transition scoring opportunities, is an unselfish player, and provides an extra rebounding option for his team. Had a few missed lay-ups that I'm sure he'd like to get back, but still finished with a well-rounded 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists in a win.

Yared had a quiet first half, but came alive in the second to help Highland Park make things interesting down the stretch against Johnson. Yared excels in the mid-range, and is someone who seems to be automatic when he's able to get to that elbow area and elevate for a jumper. Has such a smooth release that can connect from beyond the arc as well. Helped his team start to break the Johnson pressure more consistently in the second half, which helped them make the game competitive. Currently scoring 18.4 ppg as a senior.
