The raw percentages don't tell the whole story with the senior guard's performance as often times his points came during critical junctures in the game when buckets were needed - and he delivered. Having the ball in the St. Martin's commit's hands was critical as when he drew the defense he was also able to dish the ball off to an open teammate.

Kefgen averaged 17.8 ppg on 46.8 percent shooting, 52.8 percent from three, and 80 percent from the line. No question the senior guard who's committed to OIT had his jump shot going, often getting the catch-and-shoot coming off a screen and quickly knocking it down. As successful as he was bombing away, he still looked to attack the basket as well.

Carr averaged 17.5 ppg on 47.1 percent shooting, 37.5 percent from three, and 68.4 percent from the free throw line. In the tournament the senior guard was absolutely sizzling from beyond the arc, showing off his improved consistency and confidence in his shot from three. He wasn't just bombing away either as Reyes got to the hoop, especially in transition, and knocked down free throws too.

Vizconde averaged 16.0 ppg on 48.1 percent shooting, 31.8 percent from three-point range. Over the last couple of years, the junior guard has evolved into more than being a catch-and-shoot threat and the tournament was evident of that, as 18 of his 25 field goals were actually two-point scores. He converted a number of tough drives in the lane, often through contact.

Bierbrauer averaged 14.8 ppg hitting 47.3 percent from the field and 37.5 from three, hitting six from deep. The majority of his points came from shooting jumpshots, of which he looked especially solid from mid-range. The OIT commit saved his best for last, notching 31 points in the consolation finals - a point total that ended up being the highest individual performance by anyone in the tournament.

Reckamp averaged 14.8 ppg on 42.2 percent shooting from the field and a sizzling 94.4 percent from the free throw line. He was the team's most consistent scorer in the tournament and posted double figure efforts in all four games. He also tied for the lead in the event with 3.0 steals per game.

The 28th annual Les Schwab Invitational took place at the end of 2024 and this year it was at a brand new venue - Viking Pavilion on the campus of Portland State University. We had the opportunity to drop by and take in some of the action over the five days the tournament was being held and while our focus was mainly on the consolation rounds, we did get a chance to see all of the in-state teams perform at least once.
