It was a dream season for Atkins, who not only garnered individual accolades but helped lead Barlow to their first-ever state championship. He ranked among 6A’s best in scoring and assists and should be one of the players Team Oregon will look to lead from the point guard spot. Previously committed to Eastern Arizona, Atkins has re-opened his recruitment and has started to field calls from all levels.

The top backcourt rebounder at the LSI from in-state was Atkins, who averaged 6.5 rpg. As you might expect, many of his rebounds came from the defensive side of the ball at a 5.5 per game clip. The senior has always possessed the strength to be an effective rebounder and his ability to grab the board and immediately take the ball upcourt to get the team in transition was a major plus.

Moving to the #3 spot is Atkins, who despite missing some action in the second half of the season put together a good junior campaign. The 6-foot-2 guard remains an outstanding offensive performer – 17.0 ppg shooting just under 40 percent from three – but he’s improved as a floor leader and his 4.9 apg average ranked among 6A’s best last season.
